Our brand-new gas range and oven was a beautiful Replacement for our previous one that served us wonderfully for 35 years. But the oven in the new replacement never worked properly from day one. The manufacturer sent repairmen several times during the 1 year guarantee period and they replaced major parts twice (including thermostat and ignition coil, parts for which we had to wait months for delivery which ended up being defective) and still, the oven never worked properly, failing to stay on, failing to maintain temperature. My wife, a gourmet cook and baker, finally got so frustrated that we finally considered getting rid of the new oven and buying another by a different manufacturer. However, we called a close friend who recommended Neil at OC Appliance and we called at about 1:30 PM today. By 6 pm the same day, Neil was packing up to leave our home, the oven working perfectly, with appropriate replacement parts from stock parts Neil carried with him in the truck. In this time of COVID, Neil was carefully masked, donned special shoe coverings before entering the house, maintained appropriate social distance, and yet was totally engaging and pleasant; in a quiet and modest way, explaining, in easy to understand words, the electro-mechanical and engineering issues that the manufacturer’s and retailer’s repair team did not grasp. All of which goes to show that training is not always enough; you’ve also gotta have some smarts; and, along with all of his other superb qualities Neil had plenty of smarts! A superb job done in record time when all others were flummoxed!
