Is really unfortunate what happened with this client , (Mr Hospes)
Please review this response if you are interested to know more about what happened!We started working at Mr Hospes neighbor, whom contacted Tierra Designs through Homestars platform. We did a few projects including a valley stone retaining wall.
As we finished building his neighbor's retaining wall, Fred approached Tierra Designs asking for and estimate to help him build a much bigger and complex retaining wall on a very steep hill and very challenging spot on his property!
He mentioned that he was impressed with our work and that he really wanted as to work with him!
After collecting some measurements and discussing details we agreed on pricing and when ahead with his project.
He payed our 40 % down payment to start the project as the company requires and we started to work.
Fred worked on site with us every day. We got lots of compliments from him during
our work.
Working with Fred was fun and enjoyable. He often mentioned how hard the team was working and what a good job we where doing!
It was just when we finished the project that he completely changed his mind, and decided not to pay the outstanding balance.
After we requested the remaining balance be paid, he sent and email requesting us not to return to his property and the job was not up to code. We replied to his email and told him that we would be happy to meet with the inspector and change anything that needed to be done. We never left the job. He never responded to our email.
We then learned that he has a pattern of doing this with other contractors in the past.We wish Mr Hospes would have reached out to us and discuss the matter in person.
