our cover was installed 4 yrs ago and still looks amazing. We had a problem with an air vent located about one story above the cover. One call to Lumon and they sent a technician out to remove a panel so we had access to our problem and came back next day to reinstall the panel..what great service..and the BEST...No Charge...couldn`d believe it!!! Where else do you get service like that...Great company with a great product.

Project was initiated in February of 2015. The contract was signed and deposit cheque cashed in two days.

The town wanted site specific engineering done, which was, but only after the company's engineer came back from a two month vacation. The permit was issued in late spring of 2015, the build started in late September.

The roof was the first thing to go up. It looked great. The roof crew didn't bring the railing, that was purchased in the contract, so a different pair of installers came two weekends later. They installed the railing well enough but also took it upon themselves to add in a lot of wood structure under my deck that was contrary to what the engineering demanded. I had to remove all the material under the deck that they put in so I could install the material in the proper manner that their engineers told me that I had to put in.

Glass next:

One solid glass wall came and a modified sliding glass wall came. The first problem was the sliding wall. It was supposed to fold. I was told that the type of folding wall now only comes from Finland and will be a six week delivery. Now we fight over the cost.

The next problem was the third wall that they forgot to build. They just forgot. This would result in another four week delay.

It was December of 2015 by the time this project was complete. It wasn't done but it was complete.

It started to leak in various places and fast forward to late 2017, it doesn't leak now. More than ten times they came back to repair the leaks and more than ten times it still leaked. We have met almost all of Lumon's installers and knew 5 salesmen that the project was handed off to. The original salesman has "left the company."

My last contact with Lumon was a text to the salesman in charge at the time to let him know that the roof is still leaking. He was to have gotten back to me in two days. It is now the end of November and I have not heard a peep from Lumon.

In August of this year, I rented a brake and bought aluminum to re flash the roof. The roof doesn't leak now, but not because they fixed the problem they created for me. It is really important to know that you need to be really handy to own this product.

I can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had working with Lumon. Every single person that we encountered was incredibly professional and the work was completed exactly as described. The entire crew was hard working. They cleaned as they worked and were extremely pleasant. This also wasn't just our experience as we copied our neighbours since they had a similar outstanding experience. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lumon for it's people and it's quality.

From the moment we ordered our blinds through Darlene Kuik to the installation by Luiz Holanda and Mike Susani the process was a lovely experience. Darlene was thorough, knowledgable, and gave the impression of honest interest in having satisfied customers, she answered all our questions and was pretty well right on with our delivery date.
Our installers Luiz and Mike were careful, considerate, professional and curtious. They did an excellent job of installing our blinds. We love the look of the blinds they provide privacy, lower the overall temperature of the solarium, and protect our deck furniture from fading. We give this team a five star rating from our experience.

We pat ourselves on the back everyday for investing in Lumon's sunroom. We found we control the weather!! We have been outside everyday since November 1 2016. The staff at Lumon feel like family to us. They were very respectful of our home and property and went over and above to address any concerns we had. We have already recommended them to family and friends and we will continue to do so. Everyone should make their home feel like a year round vacation!!!

We inquired about an OXXO 15'x7' oversized patio door to be installed on a detached gym at our clients home. We were lead to believe these doors would be suitable for the Calgary climate and would pass the required NAFS specs to receive a permit in the city of calgary. We made a deposit and ordered the doors based on these reassurances. We were told it would be 8 weeks to get the doors delivered. We jumped on getting the doors into production and paid a $3300 deposit. After many trips to the city of Calgary permit office, many discussions with senior staff- these doors came nowhere near passing the required NAFS specifications for installing windows/doors in the city of Calgary. After much argument and discussion with Lumon (they continued to maintain these doors do meet the requirements) we were forced to cancel the order as we could not install them, nor would we ever be able to use these on a home or detached gym or any heated space.... We didn't feel we would or should have any issue getting our deposit back after 10 days and being mislead by Andrew the Calgary sales rep that they would pass. We were told the windows were finished/ complete and we couldn't get our money back because production was near complete (which infuriated me given they had been claiming it takes 8 weeks to get them). We persisted and talked to several people within the Lumon organization about the situation. We loved the doors, but we only purchased them under there assurances that these would pass and be appropriate for the heated gym.
After much fight, we received $1600 (half the deposit) back. To this day (5 months later), they have still not refunded us the remainder and have not returned our calls.
I wouldn't recommend doing business with Lumon. The doors are certainly nice, but there are many other reputable companies out there that you can trust to do the right thing for the client.
The city of Calgary has mentioned that there are some rules around a business selling products to consumers and these products must comply with the codes, otherwise a consumer cannot technically be on the hook IF the product does not comply. Obviously, we are actively pursuing this angle and if the city can help us get our $ back!

The Lumon natural light patio cover over our patio has changed our backyard into a dream! If you are considering a pergola, look into this company and you will find this is a much better option because it is useful, creates a beautiful outdoor space, and is beautiful. In addition, if we decide we want to enclose the patio area, there is an option to upgrade to a full enclosure. The product is amazing, rated for Canada, and provides shelter while still allowing light. I had researched patio covers while saving up for the renovation and found this was the way to go. The company representative, Josh Nieuwenhuis, arrived on time and brought samples. He was knowledgeable about the product and answered our numerous questions with factual answers. He explained that our cover would be custom made locally, the details of the installation, and gave us ideas for the size and location of the cover. The product is maintenance free, supports the weight of winter snow (while the installers were here they were walking on the cover and I was impressed), and has a finish that keeps it clean and debris-free. The installers had to coordinate their efforts with our interlocking install and came three times at the agreed times; to mark the posts, to install the posts, and to install the cover. Josh was easy to contact if we had any questions and the company kept us up to date on progress. We have recommended the cover to our neighbours, who have been stopping by to ask if they can take a look. This is the right product for anyone who would like to expand and improve their outdoor living space and add beauty to their patio.
