GTA Pro Contracting

Jonathan did a great job selling us on the work and quality that would be delivered, estimating a week (or less) for the first phase, and a few more days for the 2nd phase. Unfortunately, what should have been 7 to 10 working days ended up being more than a month! We did tell them to take their time, and deliver a quality job, but even after several days in a row where no one came to work on the site, the quality was STILL poor, and we even had to have some of the work ripped out and re-done (bottom step that was added was less than half the height of all the other steps). Poor alignment of armour stone, with very poor attention to detail around placement, balance and big gaping holes has left us with a retaining wall that we will have to cover with creeping plants. The garden that was to be planted in the front retaining wall was not laid out per plan, and then had to be dug up again because no barrier block was put on one side. Finally, the driveway repair was done in a similarly sloppy fashion, and actually ended up worse in spots where they came back with a bobcat AFTER the drive had been sealed. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single part of the project that went smoothly. We chased them repeatedly for updates, and work was typically done 2 to 3 days after they committed to, with people showing up for an hour at a time, rather than staying and just finishing the work. They insisted on picking up payment for "half the job" long before we were satisfied that 50% of the work was "satisfactorily" completed. They did respond to feedback, and a few of the guys really tried to fix the work done by others, but it's clear that these guys are overwhelmed and can't deliver the service and quality they promise.
