I had a very large diseased Manitoba Maple in my backyard that required removal. My backyard is not large and the access to my backyard is only 22 inches wide. I had a different company lined up to do the work but they were unable to find a team that could do it in the time frame that I had to work with. McDonald Forestry on Homestars and contacted Steve. He was not only able to come and provide a quote that was more reasonable than all the other arborist companies I had spoken with but he was also able to come and do the work within my time frame.

Watching Steve & his team work was amazing. They are artists in what they do. Not only were they able to bring down the tree with no disturbance to the neighbours, but also were able to provide additional solutions for the stump grinding process at the end. The work was quick, extremely professional and they left my yard looking better than it had when they arrived. I highly recommend them for any arborist related work.

Steve and his team did a fantastic job with a large tree removal in my backyard. He explained the entire process, set me up with an arborist to file the city permit and once the work was done, they cleaned everything up and removed all of the wood. I would absolutely call Steve again for another job, and would recommend him to anyone. It's also worth mentioning that I contacted many companies to quote on removing my Manitoba Maple tree and McDonald Forestry was the best price.

Steve and his team came in a few days ago and did another great job on our backyard tree. He patiently explained the situation re: the tree and the current point in its life span and then took the appropriate measures to remove branches accordingly. He even suggested some future measures re: tree safety and maintenance which made a great deal of sense and which we will follow up on. The crew left the area clean and spotless and the price was more than reasonable. Thanks again, Steve.

Steve's team came yesterday to cut and remove a corkscrew willow which grew out of control and was too close to the pool.
Nobody was at home so i left the garden door open.
When I came home in the eveing it was amazing. The tree was gone, all yardwaste removed and it was perfectly cleaned up.

I came accross Mcdonald Forestry while they worked in my area, I asked if they could stop by for a quote. Even though they where busy they came by helped me out with a solution, they tied back the dangerous limb so it was secured till they could come back and do the job. They did an amazing job and left my yard cleaner than it was before they started, very professional and friendly.

Similar to the previous reviewer, contacted Steve and he came out promptly to provide a quote to remove 3 young trees precipitously close to our house. He was very patient and explained what we have to do and why, and answered all of my questions. Despite a storm that was keeping him busy, he promptly came out and did a great job removing the trees once we decided to go ahead. We have a big tree that needs attention and there is no question in my mind that we'll call him back.

I contacted Steve to have three small trees (e.g. 6 inch trunk diameter) removed and the respective stumps ground down. All of my contact was over email and very prompt - within two days the work was done. The team did a great job cleaning up and I was very pleased with the work - would recommend Steve again!

I had a dying tree removed by Steve that was in a tight space and inbetween several power/cable wires - done without any issues. Great estimate process, done on time and at a fair price. Very easy to deal with. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

I was very impressed and would strongly recommend McDonald Forestry. The owner (Steve) always returned my calls promptly, when we first spoke he gave me some background on his company, what I should consider when having a tree removed regardless of the company I choose. Upon checking the tree, he called me to explain what needed to be done, he also emailed a quote which detailed exactly what would be done and all costs. I contacted several other tree removal companies to get quotes, McDonald Forestry was by far the least expensive. A date was set for the tree to be removed, It was done on the agreed date, the stump was removed below ground and clean up was better than I expected. Overall it was a great experience, McDonald Forestry will get all my future tree servicing work.
