J.E.C Prestige

We had an Ipe deck with flat roofed shed below built several years ago. From day 1, it leaked from the roof area and the original contractor could not identify cause and did not feel it was his responsibility to repair it. J.E.C. Prestige assessed the situation and identfied several potential problems. As they began to take down the work, they were able to discern several problems with the construction and materials used. Their problem solving, thorough assessment and their knowledge of construction principles and products were very impressive. We also appreciated the regular updates and photos to keep us appraised of the situation. The shed no longer leaks! Both shed and deck look great and we are very pleased with the work!

We had a leak from our master bathroom into our family room ceiling. We previously hired a plumbing company who could not fix the leak. James and his team fixed our leak and installed new plumbing while correcting plumbing issues. They also fixed two holes in our ceiling and matched up a popcorn finish. We also had several drywall repairs done. Everything was done well and done quickly.

James is very professional and pleasant to deal with. He is very solution oriented and manages issues effectively. He did a complete renovation of two bathrooms and we are very happy with the end results. Would recommend J.E.C for professional renovations.

Was in need of a new backsplash. Called JEC Prestige and they came in and suggested a colour and tile type that suited my needs. They were reliable, honest, and efficient. Would definitely have them back for future projects.

James and his crew were able to execute my new dock in Muskoka in a very timely manner. He was very thorough with his recommendations. The final product looks excellent, and I could not be happier.

James and his team designed and built a custom desk for our home office. We used IKEA base cabinets to help save some costs and expedite the process. The project took a couple weeks and we are very pleased with the results.

James and his crew are hands down the best contractors I've ever used. They were knowledgeable, efficient, and extremely thorough on meeting my every need on my custom deck. James was even able to come up with a design that surpassed what I thought was possible with the budget I had to work with. I also found them accomadating my hectic schedule due to work and the kids. Because of them I can now enjoy my own slice of heaven right at home. I look forward to using them again on my next project without the stress I had experienced with other contractors. Job was going well until there were 2-3 days left and James threatened to pull his crew and walk out if I didn’t pay double what he quoted with no clear explanation as to why other than “I’m losing money on this job”. Ended up giving him another 30% just to finish the job - which he didn’t. Also, he claimed he wasn’t marking up materials at all. I called to check prices - he was marking up what I checked on by 200-300%. Very nice and did a very good job for the first 75%, and then completely ripped me off in the most unprofessional way imaginable at the end.

James was very helpful in deciding options for our renovations. We had an entire bathroom replacedand powder room redone. His crew was courteous and skilled, we stayed within our budget and close to the original quote. Happy with the results. We’ll use JEC again.
