Between tenants, I decided to renovate a few "leftovers" in my downtown Calgary condo. Ensuite bathroom, wall repairs and paint, general kitchen fixes, screen door, laundry room door, etc. I called Local Renovations and spoke directly to Matt Ling. Matt replied immediately, courteously, and is very easy to get a hold of via email, text, or phone call. Local Reno's quoted out the job within two days of the initial call and had an estimate to me shortly after. Local Reno's came in at a reasonable price, and by the end of the project, came in well under budget!

Because the renovation was conducted as new tenants were moving in, Matt and the rest of the team at Local Reno's had to schedule some of the work around the new tenants. Matt coordinated all of the work in order to make their lives easier, and the new tenants had nothing but good experiences with Matt and the team.

During the project we ran into a few logistical issues with some of the hardware not working or fitting (I sourced and supplied the hardware), and Matt quickly took care of the ill-fitting parts by replacing them with the applicable pieces. As any problems were encountered, I was notified immediately and clearly told what several potential fixes could be, along with associated costs.

The end product looks great, is exactly what I asked for, and was under budget. If you're looking for the same experience, I have no problem recommending Matt and the team at Local Renovations.

We had an excellent experience with Local Renovations. They completed a fairly large project for us which took up two floors of the house. This included a completely new bathroom, moving walls in a bedroom, new windows on two floors, new ceilings, new floors, and building out new closets. They were very professional in how they managed everything, ensuring the various additional suppliers were the best fit for the job and that all work was completed to a high standard. The Local team went above and beyond by helping us with some small issues outside the scope of their work. Of course with such a large project there were various speed bumps along the way such a products or suppliers taking longer than expected, and the project time when a bit over but that’s to be expected. Matt Ling set out a realistic budget to begin with and we pretty much stuck to that by the end, which we were very grateful for. We’re very happy with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend Local to anyone looking for a reliable contractor.

Our bathroom reno turned out to be spectacular! We are so thankful for the wonderful work that Local Renovations did for us, including working with some really great trades. They helped us from day one with everything from looking at the different options, to guiding us to various locations for the supplies, to even putting down protection on the floors in the house. The hardest thing we had to do was choose the right paint colour! We are really happy with the end result and look forward to using them in the future. I also really appreciate their attention to detail. The Reno might have taken a few extra days but to me, that meant they were not cutting any corners and wanted to complete the project with integrity.

If you are looking to hire general contractors to help with your renovations, then the Matt's at Local Renovations are your guys. Excellent customer services, great quality of works and awesome workmanship are some of the words I will use to describe Local Renovations. They are honest people that genuinely care that you got the best value for the money spent.
Often with renovations unexpected things happen and Local Renovation's response to unexpected events were excellent. When Matt L. found out that the original tiles for the steam shower were delayed due to damage of a ship container, he dropped everything and drove around Calgary the whole day to find us some replacements. And because of Matt's effort, we were able to get back on track only after couple days of delay. Such superb customer services really make Local Renovations stand out from its peers.
I'm so glad that I hired Local Renovations to help us with our home renovations. From the initial supply selection to installation, they offered great advises and suggestions throughout. A big thanks to Matt and his team for turning a house into a comfortable home for us. Thank you!

We wanted a bathroom renovation done, and Local Renovations seemed like a good fit for us. They set up an appointment to price things out, got us a quote and we were all set. Will, their site supervisor actually came out to do the work. He efficiently removed the old vanity, mirror and toilet, then pathed up the wall and painted it. Great paint job, especially along the stippled ceiling! We picked up our vanity and had it ready for them. The vanity supplier messed up the counter top measurements and we had to get the drain hole "moved" (not Local Renovations fault AT ALL). But, they handled the shifting schedules readily and had the bathroom in tip top shape in no time! Friendly and personable people all round. I would highly recommend these guys!

Matt and the Local Renovations team were great to work with. They completed the renovation in the shortest time possible and gave the best possible workmanship and attention to detail. The crew also stayed back late evening and worked weekends to accommodate our schedule and complete the work ASAP.

Thanks to Matt and his team we were able to get a big renovation completed in time and on budget.

I can't even begin to describe how positive my experience with Local Renovations has been. Matt Ling and Matt Tubbs, the owners, are clear, confident, and concise. When you chat with either of them, you get a strong sense that you are talking to an expert who understands who to be effective and efficient. From the initial conceptualization to the finishing touches, they continue go above and beyond.

We had our kitchen island top removed to change from a 2 tier to a flat-top island, and then had a larger Quartz countertop installed with two pedestal legs for support. Local Renos did an excellent job as usual! I've had previous renovation work done by Matt and Matt and their team, and they are always reliable, professional and provide top notch service without surprise. We love the new island, thanks guys!

I am very pleased with the work that was done! They are extremely knowledgeable about both the construction side AND the design side. I was quickly able to build trust with them, so when a change in plans happened (stopping work to check for possible asbestos) I knew they were going to resolve things correctly! I can now enjoy my beautiful bathroom confident that the "behind the walls" stuff was done right. Simply, outstanding!

First of all I would like to commend both Matt's for their professionalism, honesty, great attention to detail and wonderful customer service. Not only is it evident they take pride in their company and in the work they do, they kept constant communication with us at to where things were at and what was still to be done. We had several other quotes for both the exterior and interior work that we required and we found Local Renovations to be competitively priced. In addition, my husband and I really felt that we could trust local renovations to do a great job - and they did. Our roof is very steep with several valleys that were never properly shingled and flashed when we built the house ( hence the interior leaking). The crew Matt sent out for the roof and gutters did a fantastic job. They really knew what they were doing and were able to address any concerns and issues with the roof and the flow of water into the downspouts. There were a few tweaks that needed to be done but we expected that as the roof was a challenge to shingle. Everything was handled in a highly satisfactory manner. For the exterior painting, the initial crew was just average but once Matt looked at the work he immediately organized another crew to come and make it perfect. The interior work was also completed in a highly satisfactory manner. The water damage was on a two story wall so a good portion of the wall had to be replaced, dry walled and repainted. It is a bit of a slower process as the mud has to dry between sanding but the end result is great. The painter Matt had for interior work was a total perfectionist and he did an amazing job. The craftsmanship of Matt, Matt and his crews really are top notch. It was a pleasure dealing with them and we would recommend them in a heartbeat. We are very happy that we now have a great resource for future home repairs and renovations. If you can get these guys hire them - you won't be disappointed!
