I hired Darryl and his team recently. Darryl was very prompt in providing estimates for tree pruning, stump removal, dead tree trunk removal, and to tie together several communication wires running through our backyard. Their price was very reasonable. When it comes to do the work, Darryl and his team were on-time, professional, courteous, and made sure all debris was cleaned up from the site. I would highly recommend them!

Darryl quickly responded to my request regarding the removal of my 2 trees from my backyard. He was courteous, knowledgeable and provided a reasonable quote. The work was done within 2 weeks of my first contact with him and I'd highly recommend him and his crew. They removed our trees and stumps, giving us a more open space as well as allow more light to shine through. We are very pleased with the results.

Darryl the owner is very knowledgeable and had good explanations and suggestions for improving the trees in my yard. For that reason I hired him without questioning his quote which seemed reasonable.

I was very pleased with the initial work which consisted in removing a dead ash tree, a pear tree trunk, a dead evergreen bush and another dying one, as well as removing dead branches from a sugar maple and another tree. They cleaned up the yard very nicely.

The complaint I have is that upon their return a couple weeks later to plant a red maple, they they also cut down two very large branches with gnarly vines from a tree near where the maple was to be planted, and left them in my yard (on the grass), with no follow-up explanation!

This is not good customer service.

I am ill-equipped to cut and get rid of those massive branches, and certainly I did not hire an arborist co. to have them leave me a pile of work to complete by myself [need to fix my chainsaw].

Would this have happened if I had not paid them before seeing the finished work? A follow-up call would have been nice.

For the above lack of customer care I would not recommend this co. But should you choose to hire them, I would recommend you don't pay until the work is completed to your satisfaction.

Darryl from Upanoak replied promptly to an online request for an estimate. I had a pamphlet given by a satisfied homeowner at a Guildwood garden tour last summer. Darryl came and spent at least an hour surveying the work, gave me useful insight about my trees and property and gave me a thorough written estimate at a price roughly what I expected. Arrangements were made to do the work at a suitable time within the following two weeks. To do this work required cooperation from a neighbour. I assured the neighbour that the company would do no damage to his fences or property, and manage his dog's needs too. All of that was accomplished successfully. All of the work was done professionally and safely with a crew of four pros. The crew cleaned up everything. I remarked that it's tough to know where two large trees used to be. I'm happy to recommend Upanoak.

Darryl was easy to reach on the phone and arrived on time for our initial meeting. At that first consultation he was very friendly, knowledgeable and able to discuss solutions and pricing. He then was able to complete the job promptly. Everything was tidy and professional.

My home is currently well shaded by some lovely spruce trees. Unfortunately, a lot of sunlight gets blocked as well as red squirrels used the branches hanging close to, and over the house, to get into the attic. Upanoak Tree Care did a beautiful job of pruning those trees. They had the state of the art equipment which made every impossible, possible. We had a very big tree in the backyard that was rotting and falling in pieces in the yard and on the roof. It was time to take it out and Up and Oak was quick to respond to my request and got all the permits taken care of. They came in and had the tree down and stump ground long before I got home from work. It was like there never was a tree there to start. Everything was clean and tidy, no mess and literally no trace of the tree that was once there. Darryl is friendly and really knows his stuff I would trust he and his crew to take down any tree without any reservations! Great experience, reasonable price and awesome service! The right machine for the job! The crew at Upanoak know how to handle even the trickiest of stumps.

I had two very large silver maple trees in very bad states fromice-storm damage, insect and animal infestation, and decay and old age. Upanoak alleviated and removed ice-storm damaged stems and branches on one of the (better) trees to a safer standard. I will have Upanoak continue to monitor that tree in coming years to assess its state as it continues to age. The second tree was in a progressed state of decline and after getting the necessary arborist's report and permit for removal from the city, the tree was cut down and stump removed. All downed limbs, branches, etc for both trees were also completely removed at the end of the job. Removals of debris were done immediately.

Through the initial meeting with Upanoak's Darryl Stevenson where he reviewed and explained the problems with the trees at great length and detail, to his facilitation of connecting with an arborist for the required reports and information required for the city permit to the actual work of treating the one tree and removing the other tree -- which was extremely substantial -- I was very impressed with Upanoak's professionalism, care for property (mine and neighbors), quality of workmanship, and the speed at which the job was completed in a very thorough manner. If you need trees tended to by skilled professionals I highly recommend Upanoak Tree Care. It is a cliche but they go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
