meter box

We were informed by the electric company that we had to replace one of our meter boxes (at our expense). We had used CE before (they put in an in-wall heater a few years back) and they were great. From the call center/appointment scheduler to the electrician they sent out, it was a good experience. We did call around to get some quotes but CE was in the same ballpark and since we had used them before, we stuck with them. They came out, did the work at the time they said they were going to and didn't make a mess. And they didn't try to charge us any more for what they were doing or "find" anything else that needed to be fixed.

Light Post

The installation of the light post went smoothly from the initial contact to the completion of the work. Communtity Electric was responsive from the beginning contact phone call. The contact person, Vlad, was very responsive and returned calls promptly. His follow-through was excellent. The electrical work was completed in a timely manner and all follow up work was completed promptly which included the city inspection and the refilling of the trench and clean up of the area.

Electrical Work

Our house is fairly old and had a lot of older, unusable electrical sockets. I also needed a new socket put in for a modern dishwasher that I had ordered. Also, I wanted a ceiling fan installed in my children's bedroom. Vlad made the arrangements to have two of his guys (Mike and Andrew) complete the work within two days of my call. Mike was on site doing estimation within one hour of my call. Mike and Andrew got the job done before lunch, keeping the job sites clean and letting us know of any issues as they went. The ceiling fan looks great. The dishwasher is ready to go. We have 9 new electrical sockets (which solved some problems with surge protectors showing wiring faults). All in all, extremely pleased and plan to have them out again to adjust some existing wiring in the near future (too much load on two of our circuits).

Fans

Terrific. I called at 6pm, hoping (but not expecting) to reach someone. Even though this was a non-urgent call, Vlad was able to set up the visit for the following afternoon, they called and said that they could come by at 10:00am if I was available. Even better!
I'd hung a fan myself but it didn't work. When I looked back in the switch box, I saw something unusual that made me want to bring in a professional. The electrician who arrived was friendly, and he nicely showed me what I'd done wrong (a wire had come loose, but he showed me how I could have prevented it), explained what was going on in the switch box that had concerned me, and fixed the installation in minutes. He then hung a second fan in another bedroom: again, quickly, simply, and effectively.
I don't like paying for services like this, because I think I should be able to do it myself. If all trades experiences went like this, though, I 'd probably lose that dumb attitude. This was fast, fairly priced, pleasant, and it solved my problem. What's not to like?

Garage wiring

We recently purchased a house and had some work done in the backyard. The mason severed the electrical line from the house to the garage unfortunately. I found Community Electric on Homestars and he made an appointment right away to come and see the issue. Vlad explained everything in detail and sent a team of three men to come and do the job.
They spent 5 hours digging an 18" trench from the house to the garage to add a new line in metal piping. They also drilled a hole in the foundation to have the new line come out of. Everything was done impeccably. They did the best they could to adhere to where I preferred the line to be and sealed the hole in the foundation on both sides to ensure weatherproofing. They didnt stop for lunch and worked the entire time. They were on time, polite, professional, and did a great job. We will be using them again for any future work that we have.

Electrical upgrades

We used Community Electric for the following:

Upgraded all electric receptacles that were outdated and loose
Had troubleshooted several receptacles that were not working.
Upgraded kitchen and bathroom to GFI receptacles
Installed a new outlet in the upstairs hallway.
Upgraded all 2 prong receptacles to 3 prong.
Troubleshoot wires and check breakers in panel box and upgrade where needed.

It went very well! Vlad communicated clearly and we thought the quote was certainly fair. We will certainly be using this company for future Electric work.

Electrical wiring and lighting

Community Electric contacted me immediately and was able to schedule me the very next day due to a cancellation. We were only able to be there that day within a fairly narrow window of time, from 12:30 to 3:30, and they arrived promptly. This was important because we have 3 dogs which needed to be crated or put outside before Paul the electrician arrived. Vlad was extremely professional and efficient. I am delighted that they tookk care of these small but annoying electrical matters for us, and would certainly recommend them and use them again.

Light Fixture

All went well. Called to inform me of running late and would be arriving in about 30 minutes. 2 electricians arrived and performed work on changing out one light fixture and repairing electrical issue with another light fixture. I also asked that fixture be made flush with ceiling. Both men did great work all under 1 hour.

I asked a few questions about having some other work done and all my questions where asked along with a reasonable price quote.

Both men were nice and professional and I would definitely hire Community Electric again.

Heater pressure regulator

Remove and replace water main pressure regulator valve and installation of water heater expansion tank. Techs were prompt and professional. They provided me with an exact price for work prior to beginning. I did some quick internet research and their prices were well within the average range for work completed. Upon completion they cleaned up their work areas and provided me with a detailed receipt along with warranty information. I would use and recommend them.
