Liberty Security

I searched the internet for security companies in Calgary and after checking out some of the main competitors and some US based companies that also serve Canada I came across Liberty.

I chose Liberty as they are a good medium sized Alberta-based company that has competitive prices, good product and excellent reviews, especially regarding their service (both sales and after). The US companies sounded decent but their $CAD prices were expensive and they offered only DIY install wireless systems, which I didn't want. Some of the Cdn companies had decent product and sales service but, in the end, it was the reviews about the outstanding after sales service that really made me choose Liberty (as I did not want any issues with billing or costs of service techs coming out vs. Liberty's system is warrantied for life (parts and labor) so long as you are with them).

After meeting on site with sales rep, Cole, I chose the Liberty Live Interactive package as we really wanted the ability to arm and monitor our system from our smartphones. Cole was fantastic. Personable, knowledgeable, honest and 100% transparent throughout the entire process in coming up with the package that best fit our needs and budget, using our existing old alarm equipment where possible to keep costs down and with no pressure to up-sell us into something we didn't need.

Josh did the install a few days later and we're up and running now with a system that so far is very easy to set up (on the computer or computer/phone) and to use.

So far I am very impressed and happy we chose Liberty as I am confident we have a great system and one that Liberty will be there to assist with and service (at no cost) should we ever have any problems.

The sales person was informative and patient with explaining my options for equipment. It was a refreshing change from the typical pushy upselling security system sales tactics.
The technician was again informative and patient and took the time to teach me how to use the equipment and the Iphone App that controls the system.
I love having the ability to open/close my garage door from across town... or across the country.

I contacted Liberty to update and change our security system. From first phone call and in-home meeting, Cole our representative was very professional, knowledgable and helpful in assessing our needs and followed up to ensure we were happy with installation and the functioning of the security system. Appointments for in-home consultation and system installation were booked within a few days. Installation of system was done by Josh, did a great job, answered all my questions about system. Very happy with service and product from Liberty.

From the onset, Doug was professional and really listened to what we needed. He was great at recommending the right products and switching out product, which did not work for us.

I think we met every technician at Liberty, so thank-you goes out to Josh (who looks like Ryan Renolds) Denis, Aaron and anyone else whom I may have forgotten.

Have had this system for a year, had no problems. Always feel safe at home and when away. A little more expensive than other security systems but worth it 100%.

I wanted a home alarm system installed for simple piece of mind. We live in a very safe neighbourhood in Calgary, however I am a pretty paranoid person and get nervous with any little noise I hear. My husband was leaving for a weekend trip in a few days and I decided I needed an alarm system to ease my overactive mind. After a simple google search I found countless positive reviews about Liberty security and I was also very happy to support a local Albertan company. I used the "contact us" page from the Liberty website late one night, and Doug called me immediately the next day and came from Edmonton to do a consultation at our home the day after.
Doug was very honest and we did not feel pressured in any way to add extra features to our home system. It was extremely easy to get set up with them, and I felt the pricing scheme was very reasonable at about 50$ per month (and you can get money off of that if you refer others, we were told). You also receive money off of your home insurance. It was quite a significant amount off for us per month, so make sure you call your insurance company after it is installed.

Somebody came to install our alarm system the day after our consultation with Doug, as I recall. So all in all, the ENTIRE process from initial contact to end of installation took a total of 3 days!
Also - another thing that i really like is that the alarm is absolutely brain meltingly loud when it goes off. I like that because in traditional alarm systems that I have seen, they beep quite loudly but you can still tolerate remaining in the house. With the liberty alarm system I cannot fathom a burgler/intruder remaining in your home because the sound of the alarm is absolutely INTOLERABLE. I had forgotten to disarm the system one evening and went out the front door, only to return inside and almost crap myself when the alarm went off.

I would 100% recommend this company and would encourage people to consider all the positive reviews before letting a single negative one dissuade them.

I Love the system and the Representative was great, Professional and a great guy, He Really listened to what I needed as a customer. He made sure we had all the information and was very open and honest with everything. The customer service has been great as well.

Overall we are very impressed and pleased.

I did A LOT of research into which alarm company I wanted to use for the home we just purchased. I knew all the features I wanted, searched numerous sites, and emailed countless companies for quotes. Some of the companies called me too many times, some not enough. Doug with Liberty, hands down, made my decision to install this system a very easy one. He was incredibly helpful but never pushy, and never hesitated to answer the 1000 questions I had to ask. We have had the system for about a week now and are incredibly happy with it, the app especially!

Installation process is a joke and hidden costs. We were told that there is no cost for dispatch for alarms by the sales gentleman, but it turns out there was when there was a false alarm from construction dust (which I believe is faulty on the sensor products). It took 3 separate installers 3 separate times to install the tilt sensor correctly. There has been multiple cancellations, most of the time very near the time of the appointment. And the 4th installer noticed the panel installed incorrectly, so Liberty called to re-wire a problem we did not know existed/were never told about, but also that was looked at by 3 previous installers (did they notice not offer help, or did not notice a problem).

No recommendation here to use the company.
