Speedy Help with a Plumbing Disaster

My elderly parents experienced a plumbing disaster in February 2022. On flushing the main toilet, water began pouring into the basement through the potlight. Mike scoped the pipes with a camera and found a cracked pipe above ground and tree roots in the main drain. He gave us a detailed written estimate (with handy diagram explaining the problems) for the above and below ground work. He took the time to answer all my questions. His crew came promptly to do the job, which was much appreciated as the loss of the main toilet was a major inconvenience. Once the workers accessed the pipes through the wall, it became apparent that less work above ground was required than estimated, so Mike reduced the invoice - happy surprise! My parents have not had any further plumbing problems since the repair work was completed. Mike also recommended a backwater valve and further work to remove roots in the building trap but told us it was not urgent. Owing to my parents' health issues, we put off this additional work until recently. Waterguard has now installed the backwater valve and applied for the City rebate on our behalf. I have been very satisfied with Waterguard's work and Mike's communication. I highly recommend Waterguard for residential drain services.

Replaced 108-year-old galvanized steel water main with 1" copper

After exploring four top-rated Home Star water main replacement companies, I found WaterGuard Plumbers to best fit my needs. Perhaps I was just lucky but they came immediately for the initial inspection and were able to schedule the work the very next morning. Their trucks and equipment were well organized. They were skilled craftsmen. The work was done within about five hours the very next morning. My yard was left immaculately clean - as if they had never been there.
Working with them was a joy. All to my delight and satisfaction.
I've created a fully illustrated video of my experience illustrating this company's quality for use on their website under Lead Pipe Replacement.

Fantastic service, quick, organized, efficient, friendly, great value!

We wanted to get rid of our lead pipes and increase our water pressure before walling in part of our unfinished basement. I called Mike who happened to be in the area and he came by within 15 minutes! We talked about a few different options and landed on one. I had a quote within a couple days, after confirming some details with the city, and Mike and team were on site the following week. They kept the site clean and even replaced our pavers after they were done. We have perfect water pressure and they did such a good job cleaning up that you can't even tell that they were there. Thanks again Mike!

Water line upgrade amazing crew

We had to upgrade our outside copper line to the house. We called several companies for quotes. We knew the minute We called Mike we were going to hire them. They were so professionally and knowledgeable. They showed up on time and completed the work exactly as quoted and on time. They do-ordinated the city inspections for us too. When they were digging they found some gorgeous rocks in our yard and asked if we wanted to keep them which we did! Such a friendly crew, they all work so well together and are very professional

Drain Stack, Sewer Line, Backwater Valve, Sump Pump, and Replacement of Lead Pipe Service Line

We moved into an old house over year ago. We knew there were some plumbing issues that needed to be tended to, such as the lead pipe replacement. Needless to say, we were not at all looking forward to finding the right plumber and having the work undertaken.

The need to get things taken care of suddenly accelerated this Spring when we discovered a leak in the old cast iron drain stack. Couldn't put it off any longer, and began the search for the right plumber.

I received estimates from 4 companies. The price quoted by one of them was double what all the others quoted, so I eliminated them from my consideration set. The three remaining all had estimates fairly close to each other, with WaterGuard's being just a little bit less. That was both a plus and a con. I mean, obviously I wanted to save money, but I didn't want anybody to cut corners. I wanted a quality job done.

I looked over the reviews for all the companies. WaterGuard's reviews were the best and now I understand why. I am so impressed with their operation! During the first phase when we were getting estimates, their representative (Mike) gave me the best explanations of what needed to be done, and why. I didn't want one of those situations where someone hits a snag and it ends up costing you more. Mike explained everything including what the potential snags could be and how they would approach them if the need arose.

The job itself was a huge job. They had to do a lot of digging underground through the basement floor and outside our main entrance to get adequate access to the both the sewer line and the old lead pipe service line. They managed to keep the large piles of soil/ground contained in plastic sheets and after three days, when all was finished, they did a fantastic job of cleaning everything up.

Oh, I also had them install a new toilet for me while they were here. Mike picked it up for me from Home Depot on his way here and installed it without any extra charge. it works wonderfully and with the new drain stack and sewer line, the water is flushing faster from both toilets, tub, sinks.

The water volume entering the house has increased due to the wider diameter pipe in the service line. There has been a slight but welcome increase in the water pressure in the house. Hopefully when the City replaces their portion of the service line, the water volume/pressure will increase even more. If not, and we have to get the old risers replaced, I know who I'm calling! WaterGuard has certainly earned my trust.

So it was a huge job and they finished within budget. And another thing that I have to mention is that Mike was so helpful with the City's paperwork. Getting the building permits for the backwater valve, and applying for rebate programs was not a straightforward process but Mike helped out with that side of things too and that is greatly appreciated!

Water line upgrade

I searched far and wide; after many estimates meeting Mike was a refreshing experience. Straight to the point and a primary objective to save me money. He gave me the most cost effective option to increase my water line by torpeding it. Along with that, he assessed the sewer and advised against replacing it.
Mike took care of all details with the city. On the day of, the team arrived on time and were professional throughout. Job was done right and on schedule.
Highly recommend the company.

Trenchless water main lead pipe replacement

What a relief to find a company you can totally rely on in an emergency!! Our main waterline cracked and it was an old lead pipe. We were already 3 days without water when I contacted Waterguard. Michael came out immediately and he discussed different options with us as we needed a trenchless repair due to our front porch landing and walkway. We looked at moving the pipe to a new location, torpedoing along the existing pipe etc. He was so thorough and calm about this. When Vasyl and his crew came, they did an incredible job. You can't even tell that we had 5 foot by 4 foot hole in our front garden! They cleaned up everything inside to the point where it looked better than before and they had to do this work while it constantly rained and hailed that day as well! I would never use anyone else!!!!!
