We had SB Hardwood finish our basement stairs in February and are so happy with the end result. We had original builder stairs with no risers and the finished product looks incredible.

SB Hardwood was professional, reliable and very responsive. Simon returned call and emails within hours and his team was at our house on the promised start date.

Highly recommend. We are having them back to refinish our main floors stairs.

Simon and his crew did a fantastic job on our stairs and hardwood floors! My wife are are very impressed! We chose to go with Simon in large part based on his prior great reviews and also based on his reasonable q‎uote. We waited about 2 months but it was well worth it! Simon and his crew were very friendly, professional, and arrived on time every day. They paid close attention to detail and did a great job covering areas in the foyer to reduce the spread of dust from the stairs. They take pride in their work and it definitely shows based on the results. We would highly recommend SB hardwood and we would definitely call back Simon when we are in a position to do our next phase of work!

I would give Simon and his team a 10/10. Simple. We started searching for someone to renovate the stairs In our home. Prices we initially got quoted started around 12k. We got numerous quotes and found Simons to be the very best. He informed us he would reuse and stain our existing railing. Which is great that he would suggest this rather then just replace and charge more. We booked Simon end of September and he was not available until end of November. We choose him as we figured "he's that busy he must be good". And his timing worked well with our home renovation. He stayed in good contact with us. He matched the stain as best as possible to our new floors. I saw a photo of stairs he had done in a previous home and loved everything about them. I wouldn't have choose anyone else. He got the job done in a timely manner. He was pleasant to work with. And in the end got us a mantel top for a great price, offered up the stain for no charge. Very accommodating.

We changed out dated light wood posts and Carpet to updated colours and hardwood steps. We ripped out the carpet and all the staples ourselves.

Just in time for Christmas, as promised! Great new stairs, railing and hardwood floors. I found SB Hardwood on HomeStars and contacted Simon who came to the house to discuss the project. Very friendly and professional; that's Simon, Tom and the whole team. The quote was competitive, and we chose SB because of Simon and the reviews on HomeStars. I could not believe the attention to detail they brought to this project; absolutely painstaking approach to doing the job right. The guys arrived on schedule and finished on schedule; despite some complications and custom design which were handled on site. Everyday before leaving, they cleaned up the site so we could go on with our lives. These people are craftsmen, I thought it was a lost art! Our 20 year old home looks on point again! Superior craftsmanship and they left everything super tidy. He was recommended by some friends of mine and in each case the experience was excellent.

Simon and his crew know what they are doing. We had our outdated natural oak staircase sanded and stained. Treads and rails stained to match our dark hardwood floor. Risers, sides and spindles painted. We had a few low ball quotes and a lot of high quotes. SB Hardwood came in at a respectable and reasonable price. Their final product is fantastic - no complaints from start to finish.

Just one word for Simon and his team "Fantastic" more importantly reliable, friendly, professional and they care, look no further if want to do anything with hardwood floors or stairs. Thanks guys for a excellent job with flooring and fixing my stairs.

Simon provided a prompt proposal and was very upfront with when work could start. He was also very flexible on the start date when I had some conflicts on the schedule. Tom's work was fantastic, very meticulous and I felt very comfortable leaving them access to the house.

The only complaint I could think of was the containment of dust, which I understand is difficult when working in an open foyer. Overall great work and reasonable cost based on other quotes.

If you are planning to have your hardwood flooring installed and your stairs re-finished to match your new hardwood, look no further. Simon of SB Hardwood and his team (Ziggy, Volten and Simon’s dad…hope I got the spelling right) are your guys. I have planned for my project for quite sometime and scouted around for contractors to do the job, Simon’s quote was the most reasonable and affordable price. After reading all the positive reviews on Homestars, I decided to do the project with him. Simon is very accommodating with all my questions before the job, especially with all the changes of what we wanted from the initial quote. I even asked him one last change the day they started and it was never a problem with him. I was never disappointed from start to finish and ended up doing more to what was I initially intended to do. I just originally wanted to do the main floor with hardwood but ended up doing a portion of the second floor and re-finishing the stairs as well and adding a new look too by replacing the pickets with iron. What a beauty! They did a wonderful job. My wife is really happy with the outcome, and so do I. Way to go Simon.

We are very satisfied with SB Hardwood's service, they have over delivered on what was promised without changing the cost and managed to work with our tight schedule. We are highly recommending them. :)
