Green Side Up Contracting Ltd provided us professional, efficient and responsive customer service - before and during the construction of the fence. Consultation prior to the build was thorough and thoughtful. I was particularly impressed by how communicative these guys were during the building of the fence. Whenever they had to make a deviation from the consultation plans, they let us know (knocked on the door) prior to moving forward...a great way to manage change and our expectations during the process. Finally, we believe the price of product and services rendered were fair/reasonable. Thanks to Jay, Daniel and his professional team, we got the privacy a good fence is supposed to provide.

Green Side Up replaced a 20 year old wood fence with a brand new wood fence. The quality of the work is excellent, and the project was completed very quickly. They were upfront with the quote and potential extra cost related to posts and municipal servicing. The care the team took in removing and building was obvious and appreciated. The custom pergola they built for the front gate is beautiful!

This is the second time I have used GSU Contracting. One side of my yards fence blew down after standing for almost 20 years. Both times Jay and his team responded quickly, provided very competitive pricing and most importantly delivered exactly what they promised, a solid “Friendly Neighbour” fence and gates. They were quick to schedule the start and finished as they promised. No payment up front gives you piece of mind.

One side of my fence was falling apart along with a gate that was becoming unusable. Jay reached out and walked me through the features their website offered which gave me an immediate quote. He followed up, came on site to see the job, I signed the quote online and soon thereafter the crew came to demolish my existing fence and replace it with a basic fence with clean lines and a new gate to boot. I also had a corner of my deck that had to be partially reconstructed to accommodate a hot tub. The crew was easy going and very accommodating. We had worked on a solution how to best address the decking around the hot tub. Few minor deficiencies were handled pretty much immediately. Love looking at my new fence! Also appreciate the technology of receiving a quote immediately to help me assess if the project was realistic. Jay is very accessible via text which made scheduling and the project itself much less stressful.

Jay and his crew are absolutely awesome! Our backyard was in such poor shape with cracked and crumbling concrete, and a sinking and rotting double deck. With 2 little ones wanting to get outside, it definitely was not a safe area to play in. I had contacted 2 other companies before Green Side Up.  The first one told me it wasn't possible to do what I wanted while keeping costs low.  They didn't offer any other options for me and never got back to me with an actual quote, as they had promised. The second one, asked to see pictures, and I never heard back from them either. I then reached out to Jay and he came out right away.  He saw what bad shape the yard was in, but didn't turn away from the challenge and was happy to help.  Jay was also helpful with giving different options to help keep costs low. With his amazing team, they went well above and beyond to make our yard look unbelievable - they even helped us out by removing a damaged awning, and designed an awesome new backyard gate to fit an awkward opening. I cannot believe how amazing the backyard looks now! It's hard to believe its the same one. I highly recommend Green Side Up and will definitely be contacting them for any future projects. Thank you SO much Jay and team! My kids now have a safe place to play and we have a beautiful backyard to sit back and relax in. 

Right from the start of the project, Jay was on point.

We brought in other companies to give us quotes and help us design. Everyone else we brought in, we found that the person giving the quote, just gave us what we wanted, and didn't give us any input on anything. We had a current deck, and wanted to extend it, when every other contracter came in, they just agreed to extend it. When Jay came in, he gave a suggestion that made total sense. He suggested that instead of just extending it, to also shift it to the right, that way the entrance way doesn't feel so closed in. One simple suggested, made the biggest difference.
Jay was flexible, we changed our minds near the end about something, and he was more than accommodating. And always kept us up to dates about the permits.

Victor was the contractor doing the work. He really cares about the quality of work, and takes pride on his work. A few times I walk by, I see him eyeing down the wood to make sure it's not bowed or twisted, any other contractor wouldn't care and just use the wood even if it was twisted. He took his time answering my questions, even when they were dumb. And as an amateur woodwooker, he was more than willing to answer non-work related questions as well.
I've already told Jay, when I do other wood related work in my house, I will want Victor to come.

From day one, Jay and his workers (Chase and crew) were very professional and responsive. Jay took the time to understand my requirements and provided viable options that worked within my budget. Jay and his team were excellent to work with throughout the entire project. From the time we made our initial inquiry through HomeStars and used Green Side Up's online estimator tool - to our first meeting with Jay - to the day they first broke ground, we knew our backyard was in the right hands. Despite the restrictions placed on contractors with Covid-19, we were still able to go ahead with the Permit Guys to attain a building permit, which enabled Green Side Up to begin the project as soon as restrictions were lifted. Jay and his crew were prompt, courteous, and although they worked quickly, that did not come at the expense of quality. Huge shout out to Zach, who was the point person for this project. Zach communicated at every step, and ensured we were always on the same page. We would happily work with Green Side Up again, and recommend them to anyone looking to uplift their outdoor space!

What a fabulous company! Without exception, all members of Jay's team at Green Side Up Contracting who worked on my project - Dan, Brett, and Corey - were always responsive, always collaborative, and always highly professional.
