Fairbairn Home And Building Inspection

I was recommended to use David Fairbairn's services from a close friend and I thought he was absolutely fantastic!! He walked me through every step of the way and I learned so much from him. This was my first home inspection ever and I felt I know a lot more about a house in general. He had great gadgets as well and always explained clearly exactly what he was doing. Afterwards, he even provided me with a great booklet that shows a lot of information about what a house should have and how to maintain it. Additionally, he provided his report to me in pdf in less than 5 mins to my email which summarized everything in detail. It included great pictures and even recommended the tasks I should take when I move into the house. I would definitely recommend him to anyone I know. He did an awesome job!

phoned David on short notice as we just bought a house way out in Harrison Hot Springs and needed a house inspector.He was so very great to work with as he did a indepth inspection and took the worry away from us knowing our purchase was a good one.Some repairs had to be done and he was most helpful in advising us who to call and what needed to be done.Everything worked out perfect and we will be calling him to reinspect the repairs as well. I would recommend him to anyone to do an inspection as he left no stone unturned .

I hired David to inspect a house I was going to purchase. David's inspection was outstanding. The selling points for me were:

-an inspection report in pdf format emailed to me the same day with pictures describing what he found that I could understand. Being illiterate about houses I found it really helpful to have pictures besides unfamiliar terms such as flashing, soffets etc

-David did not mind me following him throughout the inspection and asking him questions

-his inspection allowed my realtor to negotiate a brand new roof or an additional $10000 off the purchase price.

I agree with all the great things the other reviewers said: David is very detailed, inspects the common areas (roof, boiler room, parking. storage locker) as well as the suite very thoroughly. He takes pictures, gives a quick detailed report shortly after the visit, and answers any/all of your questions along the way.

In this case, David went above and beyond to call the strata on our behalf in order to ask/properly word a question I don't have experience with. Plus he spent an extra 30-40 minutes with us beyond the inspection re-reviewing some engineering reports.

Thank you for your time and pleasant attitude! I'll be using you again and again (err, well hopefully not that often as I don't relish the thought of moving that much any more) and will definitely refer you to any friends, family and colleagues who need home inspection services.

David conducted an inspection of the condo I am about to purchase. He was really thorough in the inspection of the suite itself but also the building, roof, parking.
David provides a great service, is very thorough in the inspection (including testing every appliance) and does a great job at explaining things in a way someone who has no knowledge of the home inspection world would still understand. The inspection report contains a detailed summary of the inspection including pictures, and is provided on the very same day. Last but not least, David provides recommendations for the ongoing maintenance of the suite in future.
I would definitely recommend David to anyone needing a home inspection.

David was very thorough during his inspection of our condo unit and building. In addition to looking inside our unit, he spent time looking at the underground parkade, elevator room, utility room, as well as the roof. He was very knowledgeable and made practical and useful recommendations.
The report is delivered within the same day. He also offers to review engineering reports & strata minutes for a thorough understanding of the building. He goes above and beyond to answer any questions we had. We are very happy with his service.
