Hayter is the most unprofessional, inconsiderate, unreliable company I have ever known. If you have had issues with your Mitsubishi heat pump unit (Zuba) Don't put the blame on the unit. It is Hayter Technicians who are not knowledgeable, trained or experienced. I found this out after we purchased one. After about 2 years we started to have problems. When we purchased the unit from the owner himself. He gave us what we thought was a purchase incentive of 10 year warranty on the compressor and 6 years on the parts and labour.
None of this was proven to be true. I won't bore you with all the step by step details of them coming out to supposedly repairing our unit year after year. We would never know our unit wasn't working until the summer. Why you ask??? Because our back up system the electric furnace would kick in. Needless to say when air conditioning season would come around we would notice it since it wouldn't cool. Mind you I would question our hydro bills. The last time they we're out was March 3,
2020 we paid $1009.84 and April 25th 2020 we paid $615.69. But we also have been paying all along even in 2019 for 1,439.23 You would think they would have fixed it the first time right? No.. they assured me if it broke again the last time they would come out free of charge. Each time the result would be having to fill the coolant and told there was a small leak in the line but it was fixed. When I called this year after turning on our air conditioning and it didn't work as usual they totally
ignored my calls. Nobody would call me back not the owner, nor the manager. Even the receptionist who I thought was the most understanding was no different. So I called another company to come out and have a look. I paid him for his diagnosis of the problem. I was not impressed with the cost to repair and what I now knew about The Hayter Group. I then decided to contact Mitsubishi head office. A wonderful man took the time to listen to my problem. I found out there is a course that is
offered to the technicians of The Hayter Group. They never participated. Not surprised by the way they handled my unit. Next my unit was never registered therefore the warranty was null and void. The Hayter Group got what they wanted from us. Our Money!!! Took advantage of us and left us hanging for years with the same problem that they caused. They contaminated our unit by putting dye in it. Not once but twice. Our compressor was gone and they knew it. But never replaced it because it
wasn't under warranty. All because they never registered the unit. Do I have a court case??? Of course and a slam dunk one at that. So thankful that Mitsubishi took care of all of our problems. So.. If you think you have a bad product which is not as good as they claim. Think again. It's the Company who sold you the product who is not as good as they claim. Do yourself a favor.. Don't buy a Zuba Central from The Hayter Group.
