KITCHEN REPAIR AFTER A PIPE BURST WITHIN A WALL
I found Chris, the owner, on this Home Stars site and I was impressed with all of the excellent reviews he received, as well as his responses to his clients. I needed the services of a contractor to repair the damage caused by a burst water pipe in the kitchen of my basement apartment.
Chris responded promptly and we picked a date and time for him to see the "mess". He arrived as scheduled with all the paperwork and tools needed to prepare a quote for me. Of the 5 contractors I contacted, one didn't show up as scheduled, one submitted what I thought was a low-ball quote, 1 submitted a quote that was reasonable, but lower than Chris's and the 4th contractor's quote was higher. I felt that Chris and I would be able to work together amicably and that hiring him would be the correct decision.
Ultimately, I am VERY thankful that I picked Chris. His professionalism and excellent communication skills are what made the process seamless. The project involved the following: remove and replace portions of 3 walls that sustained water damage; match the paint on the existing walls and paint the new sections; remove and then re-install sink; remove water-logged cabinet; buy and install new cabinet; install new faucet; remove water-logged counter top and back splash; match as close as possible to the old counter top and back splash, a new counter top and a new back splash; buy and install the new counter top and back splash.
The work was completed on time and on budget. The quality of the workmanship surpassed my expectations. Chris's crew also cleaned the entire work area.
I highly recommend Chris and his excellent crew.
