Kurmak Builders did a great job with my renovations to the floor, the kitchen area and living room area. They provided a detailed quote of the work to be done, the price and the timetable. and they did not disappoint. They did an excellent job with great trades and other than a slight delay with some mill work, everything was done on time and on budget. They promised all the renovations would look like they always belonged to the house and they were true to their word. I get great compliments from everyone who comes over! I would definitely hire them again.

We have just finished a major renovation using Frank, Brent, Maria and Stuart at Kurmak Builders and couldn't have been more impressed or more pleased with the results. My wife and I have undertaken major renovations before with other builders and have had mixed experiences in the past but I have to say I couldn't have been more impressed with Kurmak's professionalism, their attention to detail and their communication skills.

Kurmak use a communication tool called Buildertrend which allowed us to sign off on all materials, see a real time picture of their overall schedule, track progress, track costs and overall stay 100% connected with the Kurmak team (and their sub-contractors) throughout the whole process. The communication could not have been better. In the end the project came in on budget and two weeks early.

The scope of this project was large. Kurmak replaced our whole Kitchen and lighting, re-furbished our fireplace, flattened our knockdown ceilings, carpeted our upstairs and replaced our flooring with wide-plank oak flooring throughout the 1400 sq.ft. main floor. We chose to remain in the house throughout all of this work and Kurmak, and their sub-contractors, were incredibly respectful and accommodating throughout the whole experience.

If we were to do any work in the future I would look to Kurmak first and my wife and I would recommend them highly to anyone else considering a home renovation.

We interviewed seven contractors choosing to request renovation outlines from four companies. We ultimately chose Kurmack Builders because of the level of detail provided in their proposal, the clear focus on safety, and the number and quality of the references they provided. Now that the renovation is complete, we can confirm we made the right choice. Frank and his team were exceptionally personable. It was evident throughout the renovation process that Kurmack was eager to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with the customer and provide a quality product. We felt well informed as a result of the regular contact we had with our site and project managers (Brent and Kyle) and knew Frank was always available if needed. Kurmack's use of 'Buildertrend' was an unexpected bonus. The assistance we received from our designer (Maria) was integral to the realization of our bungalow's amazing facelift. The improved appearance and function of our home will enhance our lives for many years to come.

We renovated our kitchen and living room. Kurmak Builders was a great choice to work with. Their emphasis is on quality, value, and communication. Their ability to build good relationships with vendors and trades in the industry has enabled them to hire high quality craftsmen. They always demonstrated concern for our needs and were very responsive to changes throughout the project. Our house held a few surprises for them (and us) and these were handled with great care and concern for our home now and in the future. Kurmak Builders recently completed a second renovation project at our home in two years. It involved:
1. Installing a new gas fireplace in our living room
2. Building a new laundry room in the basement
3. Remove the mudroom washer/dryer to the basement, install a custom built storage unit in the mudroom and replace the floor.
4. Re-carpet the basement stairs and office.
5. Install a new floor in the remaining basement living space.
6. Install a new ceiling in the main hall/entrance area.
7. Extensive painting throughout all renovated areas.
8. Numerous miscellaneous items we added as the work progressed.
Elapsed project time was 3 1/2 months.
My wife and I are extremely pleased with the results. The new tiled fireplace is the living room's esthetic highlight, the mudroom has been transformed by the stunning custom built storage unit. The new laundry room is a very efficient use of space complimented by the over hauled basement living area.
Kurmak and contractor staff, were for the most part, extremely capable and committed to providing a high level of customer service. Any issues/concerns that we raised regarding any aspect of the project were promptly addressed by Kurmak. Customer service and satisfaction are clearly Kurmak's top priorities.
We have had two very successful renovation experiences with Kurmak and have no reservations about using them in the future.

From start to finish, the professionalism, attention to detail, courtesy and respect displayed, made it a pleasure to do business with Kurmak. The project turned out beautifully, just as we had envisioned. The design created - when other contractors said it could not be done, was outstanding. The team from Kurmak Builders was great to work with. Brent and Kyle were very funny and definitely made the site visit meetings entertaining! All of my concerns were addressed quickly and professionally.

Kurmak was a pleasure to work with from initial meeting to final delivery. They took the time to answer our questions and quickly resolved the few issues that arose along the way. We began this rennovation when my wife was 6 months pregnant. They were highly considerate of our "hard" timeline and delivered an amazing basement ahead of schedule and on budget! Everything was done to quality. I would hire Kurmak back in a heartbeat to do other work in my home. Frank, Kyle, and Brent were awesome.

We had a problem with our house lifting due to the swelling of the clay underneath it, which caused some ugly cracks and buckling in our drywall on both levels. We attended a Home Expo in Calgary and spoke to several renovation contractors. Frank from Kurmac Builders visited our home and we felt confident right away. Frank arranged for surveyors to determine where in the house and how much it had shifted as well as obtaining a soil analysis from under the house (things that should have been done originally when we built). Through consultation with a Structural Engineer he put a plan in place to remove the drywall in the basement and cut down the wall that was constructed too tight underneath the main beam. He then devised a way to allow the wall to float with any further expansion. My wife took this an an opportunity to renovate her kitchen and upgrade the flooring and counters and also put a steam shower in the basement. This work was all completed to our satisfaction under budget. Their employees were excellent to deal with and went to great pains to keep construction dust to a minimum and cleaned up after all sub contractors. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody considering a home renovation.

3 bathrooms were renovated completely existing fixtures, tub and floors removed and replaced. A number of add on requests were handled extremely efficiently as work progressed. The work quality from all contractors was first class. The Kirmak management team was professional and responded to all requests quickly and efficiently. We have another project we want done and we will definitely have them handle the work
