Shingle Removal & Replacement

Awesome company that stands behind their work. Jim gave us a quote and Max and his crew were able to complete our re-roof ahead of our driveway replacement which saved us a huge coordination headache.

We have a massively wind exposed roof on one side and suffered some damage in the second of two wind storms within a week with gusts 70kmh+. Max was here in less than 24hrs to correct the damage himself on a small roof when he was likely the busiest guy in town. The proof is in the action.

Timely and efficient work, great communication, quality installation, epic clean up job, fair price...what's not to love. All round best in class. Thanks for a great job and for standing behind your work.

Company Response

Hi Dave, Thanks . .I would say about 90% of all roofs complete in the months of October , November, December will not have fully sealed tar strips. Different manufacturers suggest different temps/time periods. Your case was very rare, you a had 2 shingles that had blow up, but not off in the 100km gusts. It was not in a leak situation, as the shingles were pined with about 8 nails in the "common bond" area making it impossible to even pull off your house, without removing nail for nail. As you know the minor repairs have been complete and manually sealed until the spring weather hits.

Thanks for the review

Thanks! This is overall maybe the most dangerous and definitely the most physically demanding job /trade out there. Some projects are easier than others, some seem almost impossible to get through, and are very high risk, but I have to give it up to our long time workers that push through the tougher times for our customers. There hasn't been a job in years that we have started that has not been completed in a timely fashion. It is nice to have someone recognize and appreciate this.

4 Unit Townhouse

Really amazing team!! I am 100% satisfied with the completed job.

I reached out to TPR to have a quote on a 4 unit townhouse (with quite a steep roofline) and the removal of some dormers. Jim, the estimator was very detailed and created 4 separate packages that detailed each unit's job and quote. This is very helpful when you are trying to get all the neighbors on board for the job.

Max and his team came in and completed the job in 2 days -incredible.

We have a shared driveway with another townhouse unit and the team kept the area clear from debris so no one was inconvenienced. Our neighbors contacted me to let me know how impressed they were with the company.

The dormers created a slight challenge since they were bigger than initially thought, but the team powered through and the end result is fantastic.

I think people forget the potential dangers that these individuals go through to get a job done. I realize this and an truly appreciative of the work.

Max & team - thank you for a great job!

Hi Goldy, Thanks for your comments. Your job was particularly difficult due to the removal missive dormers and the overall bad access of it entirety, but I am glad it was completed as expected- with NO property damage and in a very timely fashion.

I hope you had a great holiday season.

HI Mike,

The roof, insulation and ventilation all go hand in hand. You cant really have one without the other(s). The roofing keeps the precipitation from entering the building, the insulation/ventilation aspect will keep the warm air from entering the attic/filter it out efficiently so you avoid "attic rain" causing mold from the winter months and exhaust the heat in the exceptionally hot months in the summer. We needed to change the plywood on the top portion of your house because it was let with blocked soffit vents for the better part of 40 years, and created some good intake in the process, so the chances of this happening again are minimal.

Follow up service

Twinpeaks Roofing replaced my roof in August of 2017. Fall of 2021 was blowing off the eavestroughing and noticed the flashing at the chimney was loose. Called Max and asked about getting it fixed under the warranty. After speaking with Max did realize it was not done as part of the job. Therefore, it was not covered. Max said the job would normally be $500 but, since they did the roof would do it for the cost it would have been at the time $200. A fellow was out the next day to fix it.

After service is really the mark of a company.

Company Response

Hi. Thanks for the review. We did a great job and your house looks great with the landmark weathered wood shingle - the perfect choice for you particular house/brick colour. As far as the lower roof and skylights that was done previously by another roofing company 2 years ago, It seems as though you have heat loss from the vaulted ceiling insulation/connection to your curb mounted skylights. I would suggest replacing that back section of roof and skylights, and replacing with DECK mount models as they have a built-in curb that has a track on the underside to place the drywall in making it an almost 100% air-tight system. At that point we can see if the vaulted ceiling is insulated properly, and make changes if need be. This will solve the problem for sure.

Replaced roof shingles

We are repeat customer for Jim and Max from Twinpeaks.
We had our roof shingles replaced by Twinpeaks at our previous home - about 5 years ago. They did a great job then and that’s why we hired Twinpeaks again now for similar job on our current home. We’re very happy with the outcome. Same as 5 years ago, Jim was great, inspected the roof carefully and offered the quote. Max and his crew performed the job as agreed, cleaned the job site, inspected it and walked me over the details at the end. Jim and Max!: thank you again for your service!

Thanks Nick ,

Your job was changeling, re-raftering and re decking a roof always makes for a optimal installation of your roof, it provides a longer holding period of all roofing materials and it gave us a chance to fix the root cause of the ventilation issues you were experiencing- blocked air intake, from the original wood soffits, now you have fully vented soffits, All new plywood, baffled soffit intake and the nicest exterior color commination in Lorne Park :O.

Thanks again

Max
