Shane Renovations

We hired Shane Renovations to do an addition on our house, a four-month job requiring us to move out for the duration. From start to finish they were professional, friendly, and clear on what we could expect. They provided support for all aspects of the job, from the initial design, to selection of finishes, right through to final inspection, which made the renovation much less stressful for us. Our project manager, Lucas, was amazing (as was his team) - he was on top of everything, always got back to us right away, and answered our many questions with patience. Our neighbours, who put up with four months of construction, can't stop talking about how professional and polite all the workers were and how clean the job site was! In addition to their high-quality work and excellent reputation, we found their use of technology to be really helpful - we were able to see the architectural plans in a 3-D modelling app, which made it much easier to imagine what the finished project would look like, and they use Buildertrend for the project management, which let us keep track of the job calendar, payments, and selections we needed to make. Given how big the renovation was, we were amazed at how accurate they were at estimating when it would be finished: all stages of the project were pretty much on schedule, and we were able to move back in exactly when we expected. Plus, the final cost did not stray far from the original budget (and much of that was us adding "extras" as the work progressed). We're so happy with our "new" house, and are already making a list of new projects for Shane to do!

All of the trades- employees of Shayne Renovations were Wonderful and Very skilled at their trade! The care and focus on doing the best job possible was at the forefront and ultimately, the end result! They were friendly professional and a pleasure to work with! Living through a renovation is not easy for the family or the people working on the renovation- if I ever had to do it again, I would without a doubt choose Shayne Renovations! Originally this project started as something else, but due to unforeseen circumstances I had to pivot the scope to something else. The team at Shane’s just rolled with it and provided excellent service from design to completion. The core team showed up everyday and put in a fulls days work, all but one of the subcontractors were completely professional and also did excellent work. The PM kept me informed on a daily basis on when things were happening. He also dealt with any issues promptly and to my satisfaction. The whole project was completed on time and within the initial estimate (we did go over budget but I kept throwing in change orders because I was so happy with the work I saw, I wanted more done). I can’t recommend these folks enough. Very professional and the jobs was completely free of anxiety and worry.

When we decided to renovate our main bath we knew we wanted to update but keep the character of our old home. The plan that our designer Robyn came up with matched our wishes perfectly. With direction from our selections coordinator Shayla we were able work with Shane' s partner suppliers and pick fixtures, flooring and details that matched not only our style but our budget.
Renovating in an old house in an old neighborhood comes with its own challenges-from simply finding parking to the surprises you find behind the walls. The crew was always upbeat and polite and did their best to limit their impact on my neighbors. When the unexpected did arise our site lead Lucas always explained the issues, possible fixes and impact on our budget. He and his crew were fantastic to work with!
The finished product still wows us now- several months after it was completed! Shane Renovations matched and exceeded our expectations. We are very glad we chose to work with them on this major project and look forward to choosing them again for our next major renovation.

From the beginning to the end of this huge project, the people at Shane Renovations impressed us with their knowledge, confidence, expertise, perfectionism, and professionalism. We began with a meeting at our home with owner Shane van Barneveld who immediately understood our vision and was excited to help us bring that vision to life. Next his architectural designer willingly spent innumerable hours crafting the perfect layout for our vision that would optimize function, create beauty, and achieve exactly what we wanted from each room in our house. This level of perfectionism, catering to our needs, and willingness to go back to the drawing board until we were completely satisfied was amazing! The work began under the incredible skill and talent of Dom Sebanc and his amazing crew of Trevor, Matt, Mike and designer, Shaylah. We are indebted to Dom for the leadership, guidance, tremendous care and adherence to perfectionism he gave to this project. It was though he was working on his own home! Whenever problems arose, he was quick to reassure that he would find a solution to allow us to have what we wanted and he always followed through. Even when problems arose in the house that had nothing to do with the renovation, Dom and his crew took them in stride and handled them for us. I truly cannot thank each and every one of them enough for the care towards us and our home that they gave. You can tell that they love what they do, that they work for a boss and a company that they respect and are proud of and that they take personal ownership in exceeding customer's expectations.

We cannot say enough Good things about Shane and his team. Right from the beginning the plan was organized, professional and a time line was set. The project was completed exactly when they said it would be. Our project manager Lucas, was organized, always on site and an excellent communicator. He ensured and insisted upon quality workmanship. All of Shane's employees were polite and professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. They made the process easy. We would highly recommend Shane and his team and we are thrilled with our renovations!

Our main floor living area was completely redesigned. This included removing walls to create an open concept kitchen and dining area, new hardwood installed throughout the main floor, updated wiring & plumbing, and new kitchen cabinets & appliances.
We couldn't be happier with the results of our renovation as well as the renovation process!

After doing some research online, I contacted Shane Renovations to discuss the possibility of renovating the 2nd story of my home. Shane Renovations provided me with a list of references of past customers who had similar projects done to their homes. After interviewing their customers, we decided to go with this company. The project took roughly 3 months to complete, during this time we lived in the basement. I found the sub contractors that he used to be very professional. When we raised any concerns our problems were addressed immediately. After the project was complete we did come across one hiccup with the HVAC installation, which I am happy to say that they are taking care of. Shane Renovations provided very good communication and customer service. I am very please that we choose them for this project. J
