Blinds in my new place

Dani is a good dude. His installer is a good dude. they showed up on time, gave clear options and delivered what they promised. Not a herculean idea but it is amazing how few people get that. Nice doing business with them.

Roller Blinds for My Clients

I am a real estate agent with focus in the downtown area of Toronto and I use Condo Blinds with my clients who are rent their units out and require blinds. I have worked with Dani at least 12 times and I have never had an issue. All my clients were happy with the end results

sheers for the living room windows

my wife decided to change the window coverings in the living room this past summer and she specifically wanted the sheers that tilt open and closed. She found this company and the sales rep dani came to our house showed us a variety of samples and gave us aprice. the price was very reasonable and he was helpful so we ordered the blinds. within 2 weeks we had our blinds installed and my wife loved them. overall a hassel free experience and a job well done

Vertical blinds for the office

Our office had to install some vertical blinds earlier this year, and we made a huge mistake sub-contracting Dani and his company. The installer, like the previous reviewer has pointed out, is courteous and sweet. However, Dani was extremely incompetent and inefficient in the correspondence and ended up costing us $500 more than expected, because of a "mis-measurement" on the part of him when he first visited the office and gave us the estimate.
He's extremely inflexible in terms of the final costs and we would never recommend condo blinds to anyone.

Blinds and Sunshades

We purchased vienna blinds and sunshades for our new condo in June and gave a Visa deposit. The final sunshade was just installed in mid October. We had a coupon from Groupon and by and large the reviews on Homestars were good.
The owner, Dani, does not know how to measure for blinds and because of his o.k.'ing our wishes to install the blinds on the inside of the frame, extra visits by his installer ,Ephraim, were necessary to point out that outside frame installation was necessary. When we wanted to upgrade to deluxe head rails, we were told that in addition to the regular extra $15 each for this upgrade there would be an additional labour charge of $100 for the installer to measure again. Dani blamed us for the extra visits his installer had to make, even though on one of those visits we ordered blinds for another room. Dani was inflexible on this charge so we proceeded with the regular head rails.
On August 13 the blinds and sunshades were installed but 2 sunshades were mis-measured and 1 vienna blind was mis measured. I gave a partial payment and held back $1,267.96 until the 3 blinds were to be replaced. Well, on August 27 a charge was put through on my Visa for the $1,267.96 without my authorization or permission. Dani's answer as to why the payment was processed before the job was finished was "I didn't realize that the installer took back the final blind."
In all this time it was impossible to reach Dani by phone. The majority of our conversations were by email. My correspondence file is about 1/2" thick.
Was the small savings we had from purchasing from Condoblinds worth all the hassle and aggravation.NO! Dani is very stubborn and does not seem to care about customer satisfaction.

In Condo Blinds response below, Dani, the owner, admits to mis measuring 1 blind not 3. I agree with him that sometimes mistakes can happen, but to mis measure 3 blinds is pure incompetence, and then to refuse to acknowledge these errors until forced to do so simply adds insult to injury. Yet he says some people are hard to please. If anyone reading this review feels that they would be "satisfied" and "pleased" with this type of service I would invite you to deal with this company.

Company Response

Unfortunately, this job did not go as planned. Our process consists of the sales reps always taking rough measurements first in order to provide a price. In NO way do we use their measurements as they are not accurate. The second step is the installer ALWAYS takes the final measurements so we can process the order with the proper sizes. Like everything sometimes there are human mistakes made and unfortunately, we had one on this job. Nonetheless we made sure to first figure out what the issue was and then take the proper actions to fix it. In this case we had to order a new blind. There was a delay on the owners end to grant us access to the unit to re-measure (which there was no charge for as it was our mistake). The corrections of these issues were paid for by Condo Blinds, as it was our mistake, and the new blind was ordered. 2 weeks after the installer went to measure the windows where the owner originally wanted blinds, the owner than wanted additional windows covered and therefore the installer had to go back to measure those windows, which obviously takes time and the costs money, hence the extra $100 charge for the NEW additional blinds order. All of this had caused the job to be delayed as well as multiple changes in decisions by the owner. Condo Blinds consciously accepts the fault for the mis-measurement, which happens every now and then, but nonetheless we rectified it as quickly as possible. In the end the client’s order was unfortunately delayed, triggered by both parties, but the end result of the blinds was beautiful as always. We do our best to satisfy all our clients, however sometimes no matter how much you accommodate some people are never happy.
