Home Depot Installation Services

We have been waiting for 300 days since we first approached Home Depot with a custom door project. We selected a product from KV Custom Windows and Doors. The installers contracted by Home Depot was Peak Installations. There have been 5 aborted attempts at delivery ( product not on truck, twice, installer sick, product not up to quality standard, and finally door mis-measured). The initial measurements done were completed by a part-time employee of Peak Installations whose full-time vocation was a firefighter. Hardly a seasoned professional. On the 4th attempt at installation one of the installers noticed that the door did not appear to fit the opening and also the staining of the product was of poor quality. Despite this, nobody remeasured and a 5th attempt at delivery was made. At this time the installers said that the door didn’t fit and they would have to start the process from the beginning. After 300 days I have now asked for the contract to be cancelled and my 50% deposit refunded. We’ll see how quickly this occurs. I expect interest on the money that I have been out of pocket since May 2018 but they will probably low-ball me on that front too. Lesson... do not use Home Depot for Windows and Doors or Peak Installations for anything unless you want poor customer service, delays, and headaches.
