Derrick and crew, including sub-trades had our 28×26 Detached garage done in record time. After getting a couple quotes, we had decided right away after meeting Derrick, he was the first choice. Very knowledgeable, friendly and not at all pushy. His price was within line with current costs.

Derrick came by and quoted me on exactly what I was looking for. I needed a slightly taller than usual garage to accommodate my Thule rack while open on my SUV. He provided me with choices on things like lighting, door locks, windows, and even got the foundation team to do a custom engraving at the man-door entrance, which was a huge hit with my kids!

Derrick kept me apprised of the progress of the building permit, timelines and when crews would be working. The foundation was done in one morning, and the rest of the garage was done in 1.5 days. It would have likely been done in one day had it not been for high winds, forcing them to stop working.

His crew was efficient, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Gecko Projects to anyone looking for a reliable and high quality garage!

Right from the start Derrick told us that he uses quality materials and builders for everything that he does. All of the work they completed was when he said it would be done and it was done very well, anytime we had questions of the process or how they were building things anybody working on site was happy to answer and talk with us for a few minutes, Matt and Luke were especially helpful. Derrick always answered all of our emails and kept us up to date on the project timeline.

Gecko built a 16 by 24 detached garage for us this summer (2022). The work was completed basically on time (a slight delay due to a wet June), at the agreed price, very impressed with the finished product, looks great!

We had Derrick and his crew with Gecko build our double detached garage! I cant say enough how much we loved our experience with them. We had been back and forth with the project for about 18 months due to uncertainty with supply chain and lumber market, but he put up with us and kept us updated. He was very quick to get us a quote and responds to questions immediately! He even came out to see our site and meet us after our initial quote, which I really appreciated. They are friendly, professional, efficient and organized. The actual project was complete from pour to inspections in a matter of weeks!! Hiring someone for such a costly project can be scary so we are so happy we chose Gecko! 10/10 recommend them!

I love the garage that Gecko Projects built for me. It's exactly what I wanted - Insulation, drywall, subpanel, and a gas heater! I was able to customize things like removing the window and adding an extra switch and box so I can put in a fan in the future. The onsite crew were fast, friendly and didn't mind me asking questions. Derrick did a great job communicating throughout the whole process and responded quickly to any questions I had. The project was delayed slightly when the town was behind on inspections but didn't let the builders know. Derrick stayed on it and got all of the inspections and contractors rescheduled quickly and emailed me right away with updates. I would highly recommend them!

I received two quotes for my garage construction project. Ultimately I went with Gecko, as their price was essentially the same as the other, but promised a one week build instead of four to six week. In addition to getting to use the garage sooner this meant I would have to deal with less of an ongoing disruption to my yard and neighbours, (and dog!).
True to plan, this garage was built quick! A couple of work days for concrete prep/pour/form removal, a couple days of actual garage construction once the concrete was all set, and finally door and eave installation. This is achieved by having their own crew do as much work as possible, minimizing reliance on 3rd party subcontractors and their suppliers.
Derrick was great to work with throughout the process, handling all permitting, a reasonable installment payment schedule, and allowing me to customize virtually anything I wanted from outlet and door placement to amount of lighting with updated quotes as required.
My only complaint is that the overhead door installation, which is done by the door manufacturer and not Gecko, was poorly conceived and implemented. Insufficient wire length is provided for what I would consider proper electrical wiring, resulting in wires run diagonally over the trusses rather than either parallel or perpendicular, which increases the extent that it gets in the way of my planned attic storage utilization. I ended up re-running some segments of the wiring to make it a little more sensible, as some segments lazily crossed over trusses unnecessarily rather than being simply stapled to the side like the main electrical wiring. That's a long ramble for a minor issue, which I really should post to the manufacturer's site instead in hopes they see it and change their ways for their customers benefit.
I would absolutely recommend Gecko for new garage construction.
