Total main floor renovation

Well John did it again but this time it was a much bigger job! After painting my entire top floor I hired John to complete a total main floor renovation (entirely brand new kitchen (including demoing all the old stuff), convert hall closet to office space, paint for the whole floor: dining room, kitchen and living room, new light fixtures throughout and brand new flooring and base boards throughout). John did a wonderful job and he had to deal with lots of 'interesting' wall and floor angles and electrical/plumbing set ups that come with an old townhouse. John was very professional and courteous even when things got a tad frustrating with all the weird angles etc. I am looking forward to hiring him to repaint my hallways and stairs next... even if I have to wait for him...since he does get busy from time to time... he is worth the wait.

Painting, crown mouldings and other general repairs

John is totally a "Really Handy Guy" What started out as repairing my old stucco ceiling, turned into a main floor total reno, including repairing a big hole in the stucco ceiling (where he assured me I would not know there had been a hole - and he was right!) to painting the entire main floor, and installing great crown moulding. He was patient, courteous and always willing to do all the extra little jobs that I came up with. I really appreciated his commitment to making sure the project was done on time, and he exceeded that by completing it 4 days ahead of schedule! Great job and I will be using John again... Thank you - Darlene

Re-painted and various handyman projects

A fantastic job! I am single living in my family townhouse by inheritance and it definitely is time for an update. The project was to re-paint (ceilings, walls, trim and all closets) for my entire top floor (three bedrooms, bathroom and hall linen closet). In addition John replaced light fixtures, window treatments, electrical outlets, replaced a pedestal sink & faucet, caulking around the bathtub... etc... Oh and how could I forget his great idea to cover the master bedroom closet with fabric as I was tired of the horizontal lines the shutter like doors created. What a great job he did! The price included his labor, all the paint, sink and faucet and all his great touch up jobs (it's incredible how many holes you can put in the walls over the years). He was in and out when he said he would be and was very accommodating when I asked him to do a couple extra touch ups. Being single I felt very safe leaving John in my home to do his work. John is very efficient and has a very good eye for design and handyman work, and I very much appreciate that he works within a budget as I am thinking of the resale value of my home but also know that it is a townhouse that can only sell for so much. I will likely use his services again, next will be the main floor living room and kitchen. Looking forward to it.

Powder Room Renovation on Main Floor

John is more than a Pretty Handy Guy.

My husband and I bought a new vanity set, toilet and tile last March with a goal to modernize our 1970’s vanity room. What we needed was someone who had the skill to install these items plus provide advice on its look and accessories. John was our answer.

John's background as a professional illustrator and his expertise as a hands-on contractor produced a vanity room that we love. He meticulously installed the toilet, sink and tile. He installed and selected the mirror, towel rack and wall/ceiling colours keeping our desire for a modern style in mind.

John is reliable, artistic, and personable. He is someone who perfects at getting things done right the first time. He works collaboratively with his clients while offering, if asked, his view of what will work design-wise.

Our home has many other projects we would like completed. We will hire John to do them with confidence.

Thank you, John.

Bathroom Painting and Replacement of Fixtures

John painted my bathroom and replaced the fixtures at the beginning of August. He did an excellent job! He was on time and stayed until the job was done. John is honest, straight forward and a hard worker. I'm so glad that he was able to fit me in to his schedule. I will definitely call the Pretty Handy Guy again! John, my apologies for not writing this review sooner.

Porch painting

Our porch paint job turned out lovely. Painting angel-stone is picky and time-consuming work. John did a great job; on time, on budget and with a sense of humour. What else could one possibly hope for?

Door installation

John was just what we needed! We were completing some renovations and needed someone to install some new doors we purchased. John gave us a reasonable quote when compared to others. He was on time and communicated well. After a few days some of the doors did not open/close as well as they did on day one, and John came back to make a few adjustments. As other reviewers have said, John does not rush and is careful with his work. We will definitely consider John for other services in the future.

Replace vanities and hardware, trim down doors

Thank you John, for a fantastic experience with a "pretty handy guy"! He came on time as scheduled, worked very diligently at making our master bathroom look amazing and also came back promptly to finish up a small item that was overlooked. We were very happy with his work and would definitely hire him again. We have a few projects pending scheduling which we are excited to hand over to him. He was also a great entertainer - my 17 month old immediately became good friends with him and was sad to see him leave when he finished! Keep up the great work John!!! - K and E

painting, repairs, installation

As a project manager, finding the perfect handyman is essential. Working with John was a pleasure from the first moment to the last. He is professional, knowledgeable and can put his hand to almost anything! From drywall repairs and repairing the vanity chewed on by a bulldog (which, by the way, now looks perfect) to painting and putting together a bed, removing efflorescence on the brick outside the house - he even helped me carry items to my car without a whimper! I would recommend John to anyone.in fact, I've already booked John for two more projects.

Indoor Ceilings and Backyard Deck

We needed a skilled trades person to repair and paint a crown molding as well as three ceilings inside the house. Also we had rotting boards and a wooden staircase on the back deck that needed replacing, along with cleaning and staining the entire area after. We called John based on the reviews here, and feel we made the right choice. He was punctual and when working, didn't rush through the job, but was very careful about his work. A genuinely friendly gentleman, we know to call him again when we need his skills. Many thanks John.
