When I needed to replace my roof, I checked HomeStars to find a reputable contractor, and found Turnbull Roofing to be one of the most highly recommended roofing companies to work with. I called and set up an appointment with Steve Turnbull. Steve arrived on the day and time that we had agreed upon, and explained exactly what needed to be done. Although I was only planning to replace my roof, he recommended topping up the attic insulation to current R60, and offered a discount on the insulation if I wanted to do both, which I did. They replaced the shingles in late summer 2016, but the attic insulation was scheduled for Jan-Feb 2017 (too hot to work inside the attic in summer). Both jobs were performed on schedule, and the final bills were exactly as quoted (no surprise charges). The crew performed a fairly thorough cleanup upon completion of each job, although I did find a number of roofing nails on the ground that their magnets missed. Overall I was pleased with the work and my dealings with Steve and his crew.

I called around and got a few quotes for the job. I was pleased with the quote I got from Chris from Turnbull Roofing. He explained what I needed to improve the situation in our Attic. Steve and Robert did a great job installing the additional insulation in the attic. Everything was cleaned up before they left. I was really happy

Not only did the Turnbull team do an amazing job accurately quoting and replacing my upper and lower roof shingles, they completed the job under terrible circumstances. Our street was being torn up in the early summer for water main replacement, so it was basically an inaccessible giant pit for months. The completion date was supposed to be weeks prior to the roofing job, but was delayed (and we knew we couldn't go another winter without replacing the shingles). We rebooked the crew for the latest possible date and alerted the road crew to the necessity of having access to our home. Despite assurances that they would be able to drive up our street and in the driveway, the road was still incomplete on the day of the job. The Turnbull team actually wheelbarrowed in all the building materials from a neighbouring street, but without access were unable to bring in a dumpster to collect the old roofing material. They tarped an area of the driveway and meticulously piled all of the old shingles, then covered it so that it wouldn't blow around our yard. They returned to remove all of it as soon as the driveway was accessible again, transferred it into a truck, and cleaned up the site removing everything. Their flexibility, ingenuity, and positive attitude to go the extra mile made what might have been a nightmare into an amazing customer service experience. Our roof is beautiful, can't say enough good things about the wonderful guys at Turnbull!!

I was completely dissatisfied with there service. Let me explain why.

1. I was given two car tickets as they left there bin on my driveway and i wasn't able to park on my driveway. I know this could have been avoided by me but they were very defensive immediately when trying to explain my situation and get a price reduction to cover the costs of the tickets.
2. They must've used a couple of bad batches of shingles but did not care enough to look them over or save a few bucks and installed them anyway which now look like they are 3 years old instead of new.
3. And this is most important, they left a dent in my brand new aluminum garage door from there ladder and would not rectify the issue! It's been a year and a half after the fact and every time I pull into the driveway I am reminded of this fact. I had called about it immediately when I noticed which was a day after the incident but of course they don't have a record of the call. I called about a month or two later and had a guy come out and 'look' at it. He of course was defensive and pretty much straight up told me I was mistaken that they could have done it!
I would never recommend this company. Oh, and in order for me to get $100 off of their quote to 'cover' for my car tickets I originally had to give them a 10/10 and write a glowing review. Unprofessional at best!!
