Gas fireplace not lighting. Needed service and cleaning. Charles was efficient, and friendly. Very customer focussed. On time and wore a mask.we would highly recommend him to anyone and would certainly use him again

When our gas fireplace died this spring we did some checking around with 2 other companies before finding Charles through Home Stars. He was easy to contact, responded with good information and followed up with a visit to see the problem in person. Parts were difficult to source but Charles was successful. The work was done within a couple of weeks by Charles and his apprentice. Totally professional, clean job. We are very satisfied and would recommend this company to anyone having issues with their gas fireplace.

Charles impressed me even on the phone when I called to inquire what could be done about my non-functioning gas fireplace. He clearly had experience and knowledge about my particular unit and I was pleased at how quickly he was able to come. I thought the fee for a service call was a bit more than for a furnace, but so much more gets done on their service call. When Charles and his excellent assistant left they had diagnosed my problems, provided parts from their truck (obviating the need for a return visit), cleaned the entire fireplace including the very soot darkened glass, ensured the pilot light would light, checked for gas leaks and CO2 issues, adjusted the flame and confirmed that it would ignite by the thermostat. They were pleasant, polite and had a sense of humour. They arrived wearing masks, removed their shoes and kept a polite Covid distance. Overall, I was delighted with the service I received and felt that what I paid was very fair considering the amount of expertise required, their time on the job, the workmanlike job performed and the fact it included parts as well. I would not hesitate to recommend TJ's Fireplace and Gas Services to anyone.

Charles from TJS did the original fireplace installation 14 years ago and was back yesterday to add a variable speed fan. He ordered the part, kept us up to date on availability and did the installation on the date and time quoted. He did an amazing job including a few modifications to accept the new fan, plus cleaned and inspected the gas fireplace and was very pleasant, knowledgeable and neat with the installation. A very professional service at a reasonable cost, all with proper Covid protocols! We will recommend Charles to our friends and neighbours.

I did some research before calling Charles to service my gas fireplace. Charles was very professional and with no delay solved my fireplace problem. He not only solved the problem but my fireplace looks brand new after he replaced a switch and cleaned all parts. I will be using this company (Charles) again to put in a gas BBQ line in the spring. I fully recommend TJS [Charles] to anyone needing fireplace service. Our Canadian made fr/pl was installed 26 years ago, at that time copper refrigerant lines were the norm to be used as natural gas lines. After many years of trouble free fr/pl use, the flames in fr/pl died out. Problem is shale dust is created by reaction between copper and gas. This dust then blocks the fr/pl control valve limiting gas flow. Charles quickly found the problem, vacuumed the gas line and control valve inlet. As true professional he is, quietly answered all my questions as he worked. Fireplace now works as if new. I'm sure it will work for another 26 yrs.

I called looking for a fireplace conversion from wood to gas as well as the finishing stone and mantle. They were unavailable during my requested time period but went out of their way to find places in my area who might be able to do it. They were super friendly, didn't deceive me about timing just to get a job, and were very helpful. I will definitely be keeping them on my list for future jobs.
