I can't say enough about Jon and his whole team at Rain City Renovations. The job was finished a month early, and it was around the budget we were quoted. We interviewed several contractors for our job and decided on Rain City because of the service. A smaller company turned out to be important to us. It meant the crew was often focussed on just our project. Everything from the demo, to the framing, mechanical, and then finishing was done to a high level. Communication was always open and honest, and any issues (or questions) we had were dealt with right away. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rain City Renovations to anyone.

We were referred to Jon by a family friend, and were very impressed with him even at the interview stage. We wanted to build a custom laneway home for a family member, and he listened and paid attention to our wants and needs.
We chose to have Jon manage the project end to end, and were never disappointed. He was on top of things throughout, and there were never any scheduling delays with his crew, sub-trades, or even city inspectors. His long term relationship with his crew and sub-trades was clearly evident. As this was a custom home it was appreciated how well he worked with the architect too.
The quality of construction and attention to detail was above average, and we continue to receive compliments on our home from everyone that visits.
The project was on time and on budget, and we would highly recommend Jon and Rain City Renovations (and have already done so many times).

Jon was referred to us by our structural engineer as an individual who had a high attention to detail and produced a fantastic product and we were not disappointed. After a bad experience with another builder, Jon came in to save the day. He took on problems caused by the other builder and also provided guidance on how we can complete our project in the most timely and cost effective way. It was a huge asset to have a someone we could trust who actively worked with us to achieve our dream home. I have would have zero hesitation recommending Jon and his team.

Rain City completed a major renovation of our character home in 2016, including kitchen, bathrooms, new electrical and new windows. We can’t say enough good things about Jon, our project manager Elliot, and the rest of the Rain City team. They are an honest, knowledgeable, reliable and hardworking crew who went above and beyond our expectations.

Jon has very high standards and attention to detail that is reflected in his employees and the trades he uses. He also has great a sense of design! He offered excellent advice and suggestions on how to make our space even better and would always take the time to answer our many questions.

Jon and his crew did an amazing job with all the interior design details, finished and fixtures. They added value by coming up with lots of interesting ways to maximize storage in this lane way house.Rain City is a very professional outfit which I would not hesitate to recommend.

Jonathan, Elliot and team did a great job that met our tight timelines. We had a month for them to come in and do a pretty major job, including ripping out everything in our kitchen, tearing down a wall and framing in a kitchen island, installing brand new cabinets & new appliances, skimcoating the ceiling in the whole kitchen/dining room/living room/hallway areas, installing pot lights in the kitchen/living room, wiring in a projector, redoing a bit of flooring. We are so happy with the end product.

The Rain City Renos team was great, really easy to work with and communicate with. They listened to what we had as a vision and proposed great improvements to the idea based on their expertise. The way the billing was broken down made all costs very transparent, and they were able to do the project at a very reasonable price. Work done was high quality, with the exception of one electrician brought in whose work was a little rushed/sloppy, which meant having to come back to fix a couple of things.

We hired Jon to do a full basement, deck and bathroom renos. The job was done in a timely manner and close to budget. He was always available to answer our questions. Any issues that arose, he was able to rectify. His crew was professional and courteous. We were very pleased with the results.

Nothing but great things to say about the major reno that Rain City did for our character home. Jon of Rain City has incredible vision and great people working for him. We were fairly hands-off in terms of the project because of all the other things going on in our life at the time, but there was nothing to worry about with Jon at the helm taking care of everything. Jon and his team at Rain City are consummate professionals. Jon is an expert craftsman and his attention to detail permeates his craft and crew. We were thrilled to have his input and direction during the year long project. Now that we live in the house, we see Rain City's influence everywhere - - they didn't just take the plans and build to them; they optimized as they built - whether it was the roof trusses that you can't see or the stunning central glass-enclosed staircase or the concrete landscape work that makes the house pop. Jon and Rain City were always suggesting different, interesting and thought provoking ways to address design elements. Our family has a wonderful, comfortable, beautiful space to live for the next 30 years thanks in most part to Jon and Rain City.
