I've waited nearly a year to write this review. Not because I didn't trust John, but because I'd rather give a long-term review than one immediately after installation, when I'm in the honeymoon phase.
We purchased two metal, and one fiberglass door with a phantom screen roller.
Long story short - you will not be disappointed by hiring John for your next job. Our doors look as great today as they did a year ago and John has been a treat to work with from point of contact all the way through to any after sale service we've needed. He returns calls within 24 hrs, has come by our home for touch-ups in no time at all - sometimes on the same day, and is very communicative in keeping us informed of timelines, delays, etc.
Let`s face it, no installation is EVER perfect, but with John, we have absolute confidence in knowing the job is being done right. Even though we has just met John, he treated us with respect and honesty and made us feel like family.
Let's face it, most products out there are relatively the same in performance, it`s the installation that really matters, and it is for the reasons listed above, that when we decided to do our windows this year, we didn't even shop around - we just gave John a call.
Read on if you'd like more details ....
Of all the tradespeople I've worked with for the numerous renos and upgrades we've done within our home, John has been by far the most honest and easiest to work with - from point of contact, to after sale service.
We really appreciated his no pressure sales approach. After having numerous sales people come by with their whole song and dance, John's no frills approach was refreshing. He came by our home, took a few quick measurements and got the ball rolling on estimates. He worked with us to find the right combination of product materials, colours and styles that would work best for us. At no point did we feel rushed in the decision-making process as we continued to hammer out the details.
Installation of the three doors was relatively seamless, and John and his crew did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Also, to show John's character, he showed up to install our doors even though he was having a bad flare-up of gout in his foot. He was clearly in pain and I offered him to come back another day when he felt better, but he refused and carried on. Talk about work ethic!!
One thing that particularly resonates well with me is that John is not only the face of the company, but he is also the installer. We appreciate this detail as too often the sales rep and installers are two different entities altogether.
Furthermore, John really cares about his product and his customers. He really made us feel like family, and we felt absolute comfort and confidence in John as he treated the installation within our home as if it was his own. He took great care in ensuring it was done right.
Afterwards, John came by at least three times to finish up a few items (he had to caulk the bottom of the door as we were getting stonework done on our front porch at the same time) and he was able to come by in no time at all - the same day I called him, in fact! Essentially unheard of service in this day and age!
One of the self-lubricating hinges on our fiberglass door developed a squeak, and again, John was by the same day to have it looked at and remedied.
On another occasion, the aforementioned caulking along the bottom of the door separated after this past winter, and John, again, was by the same day to re-caulk it.
Seriously people - this is one dedicated business owner. He has gone above and beyond our expectations and has restored my faith in believing there still are some honest and hardworking folks out there.
John, from the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for being the good guy that you are!
Best of luck in the future and we've already past your name on to friends!
