850 sq ft Basement - 24" Rectified Porcelain

We were looking for an experienced tilesetter that had experience with large tiles and large spaces to tile about 850 sq ft of our basement with 24 inch fully rectified porcelain tiles. We met with a number of them, but they either didn't have enough experience with this type of install, or they simply said they wouldn't take the job because it was too difficult.

We found Precision Marble and Tile and met with Mario and saw the videos of their past jobs. He could show us photos of a number of tile installs he had done recently that were as challenging, or more challenging than ours.

His experience and the quality of his past work was miles above the other tilesetters we met. And his pricing was competitive.

We're extremely happy with the way things turned out. The Precision crew used dry pack to level the entire floor. It wasn't too bad before, but there were some high spots that would have been obvious with such a large tile. After the dry pack, the floor was perfectly straight.

The tiles are fully rectified so any imperfection in the way they're laid would result in raised edges or grout lines that weren't straight, etc. The installation is perfect. There isn't a single raised edge or misaligned grout line.

One area really stands out. They tiled around our built-in bar and cut the tiles so perfectly that we don't need to install any trim to conceal the edge of the tile. It looks great!

Leading up to the job, Mario kept in contact to let me know how his current jobs were looking and when he was expecting to start our job. They took their time and didn't rush and the results are great!

I would definitely recommend Precision Marble and Tile to anyone looking for an experienced tilesetter that does outstanding work!

Tile - Porcelain and Marble

Mario was recommended from a very trusted contractor who uses him exclusively. He gave us good ideas and worked with us to ensure we had the design we wanted. He drypacked the floor to make sure its flat and it is. We decided to add some marble trim in 3 areas which he cut to size and made sure all the interior tiles were symetric. Took more time but looks great. He stayed to the estimated budget and completed the job professionally. Great attention to detail. We will use him for any future work.

24" Porcelain Tile Kitchen

Several people I know that work for professional home builders told me that the drypack method was best for laying tiles (most tilers choose the cheaper and lower quality cement board option). Mario was able to do a professional job and a relatively low cost compared to other people using drypack. 24" x 24" is extremely hard for most tilers to lay (some told me that they could not take the job because they were uncomfortable due to lack of experience). I could tell when I met the guys from precision that they knew exactly what they were doing so I trusted them. My trust paid off as the floor looks amazing.

Kitchen & hallway floor tiles

I found Mario after getting quotes from number of contractors. The quotes were in the same ballpark but none of the other contractors was using drypack as Mario did. He explained how this method will ensure that the floor will be perfectly flat. This is especially important because I chose 17.5" rectified edge porcelain tile and wanted a tight joint.
Mario and Tony did an excellent job. All lines are straight, floor is flat.
This is the second time I hired Mario to install tiles.

Super Mario to the Rescue

During our Kitchen renovation our contractor ran into multiple delays and could not meet commitments to get our floor installed before the kitchen cabinets were to arrive; guess who shows up to save the day… You got it Mario and Tony. The two guys are a pleasure to deal with, and very polite. They were both complete professionals throughout the entire install. Communication was very easy as they returned all our calls and kept us in the loop until the job was done. All our anxiety was relieved once they started. I can’t stress how professional Tony and Mario were to us. I only have nice things to say about guys that would work on Mother’s Day to make sure that our tiles were laid and grouted in time for our cabinets. We were so happy with the finished work and get so many compliments, that we told our original contractor we wanted Mario and Tony to install our backsplash! Their work speaks for itself and I have no second thoughts passing their contact info to friends and family.

Backsplash

Mario installed a backsplash in our newly renovated kitchen and did a fantastic job. Very professionally done and helpful with tips on how to maintain it, etc... Very flexible to our timing and took the time to meet us and get the lay of the land before proceeding. Will be recommending to anyone I meet in need of similar services.

Tile Floor Installation

These guys are real professionals. I had a floor that needed to be leveled (original contractors made a mess of it!) and he was able to fix it for me, perfectly level the floor, and then lay my entire basement floor with tile. It looks so nice! The tile is beautiful and it is laid absolutely perfectly, all the lines are exactly straight and even. I highly recommend Precision Marble and Tile for any project. They also install kitchen tile, bathrooms, they can put in heated floors in your bathroom to make it like a spa, and any other type of tile job you can imagine. I will definitely use them again in the future when I redo the kitchen.
