Straight Up Masonry

Both pillars on my front porch needed replacing as they had been built incorrectly and without adequate footings. STM had been recommended to me by several people and their quote was very competitive. The communication was excellent in the build up and they explained all the work to be done. The work was completed in 3 days and the the guys who did the work were very professional, hard working and left the site clean and tidy each day. The job came in on budget and completed pillars looks absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend these guys enough; they are excellent.

We hired Straight Up Masonry on the recommendation of a friend. The quote was for 1 to 1.5 days and all deep pockets of mortar to be blown and repaired. They came Friday for 4 hours and left. There are still various deep pockets left that were never touched, and parts of the job were sloppy.

This is my fathers house, who is 86 and I feel he was completely taken advantage of. When he called to discuss the job that ended up being $400/hour - he was berated and yelled at. I don't know who thinks they can treat people like this - user beware.

A couple of years we noticed that the pillar on our front porch was beginning to crumble at the base. We had various companies come out and provide their professional opinion of what needed to be done. Tony from Straight Up Masonry was prompt to respond to my job request, looked at the pillar and gave me to options and advice for how to proceed. The cost estimate was very fair!

I got quotes from 3 different masons and right away Straight Up stood out from the crowd. The quote was reasonable and Tony struck me as someone I could trust. The crew were courteous, respectful, prompt and communicated very well. They did a great job! I have a 100 year old house and was surprised how well they problem solved. We had Straight Up Masonry remove an old brick window sill and replace it with a limestone slab, as well as do some tuckpointing on our older Toronto semi. From initial contact to the post-work follow-up, the entire team were a pleasure to deal with. Fair price (lowest of three quotes we received), excellent communication from Tony and Crystal throughout the process, the crew were personable, professional and incredibly neat, and we were very happy with the results. Can't really ask for anything more.

Straight Up Masonry was a pleasure to work with. Unlike 99% of contractors, they kept us in the loop at every step. We knew when they'd arrive (and they did) the time and what work was going to be done that day. They were the most courteous workers we've ever used, and we just finished a major 18-month entire house reno with lots of trades involved. The guys cleaned up after their work and at the end walked us through everything they had done. We recommend them without any hesitation!

Straight up Masonry recently repaired the bottom of our chimney stack and some brick work at the side of our house and we couldn’t be more pleased with the end result. Tony and Crystal and their crew are a pleasure to work with and really take pride in their workmanship. From getting a quote right through to showing up and completing the job they are very easy to work with. Will definitely work with them on future projects and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them anyone.

We had two brick columns supporting our porch replaced by Tony and his crew. This included pouring new footings for each of the columns which had deteriorated. The whole team at Straight Up Masonry is thorough, professional, and very easy to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.
