My attic had the original insulation from the 80s and I was noticing the house was quite cool. I have been putting off topping up the insulation as I really don't like contractors in the house these days but I wanted to get the insulation brought up to today's standards.
As usual when I need a contractor I checked HOMESTARS. Logik Roofing and Insulation was the highest rated firm. I was going to start with Logik to be the first of my 3 quotes.
I contacted Danielle who was extremely efficient and pleasant to schedule an appointment. During these discussions Danielle advised me of a Government rebate that was often about $600 but varied in amount depending on the quantity of insulation applied. We scheduled an appointment a couple of days later.
The estimator, Mike, was exactly on time. I explained to Mike that we had just painted the house and didn't want any damage to the walls etc. I cannot explain what a pleasure it was to deal with Mike. He not only left his mask on the entire time he was in my home but was also was very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and polite, plus he was extremely careful to not do any damage. He explained the work to be done
including upgrading the attic ventilation. Mike went to his truck and gave me his estimate; it was exactly as I had hoped. Mike also advised me that Danielle would review the government grants with me when I called her.
After dealing with Mike, and being happy with the price, I had a great deal of confidence in Logik and decided to proceed without getting any additional prices.
Danielle explained the Government rebate would be $600 and gave me a someone to contact to make the arrangements. After investigating the rebate program I called Danielle to book the work and get an installation date. I reiterated to Danielle that I wanted the installers to be careful and that I wanted all of the installers to be masked and
vaccinated; and I was assured this was not a problem.
The installers Tanner, Gus and Cory arrived right on time and from the onset were extremely friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They took extreme care to not damage anything and planned the install such that the front door would be open a minimal amount of time since it was quite cold out. They put drop cloths everywhere and did a great job cleaning up before they left. They showed me the current level of insulation in place as well as after the Baffles and ventilation improvements were made and finally when the work was completed. There was over 16 inches of insulation blown in and everything was spread evenly. To say I was impressed is an
understatement and believe me I am very difficult to please.
One more thing that impressed me
me was the Logik agreement which is simple and not filled with 2 pages of fine print terms and conditions.
As you can see I am delighted with the insulation work provided by Logik. The Logik team is as fine a contractor's team that I have dealt with. I highly recommend Logik for your insulation requirements.
