T.J. Fine Upholstering

TJ Fine Upholstering did an excellent job on reupholstering a chair and ottoman. The work was completed ahead of schedule with excellent workmanship. The two pieces now look brand new. Thanks again, we will definitely be back for any other reupholstering we may need.

We had TJ Fine Upholstering recover a wing chair a few years ago and were very happy with the results, so when we inherited an old arm chair we thought first of TJ's. We took the chair out to their location on St. Clair West and picked a fabric, got a quote and left a deposit. There was a small delay in completion of the work, which they remedied by agreeing to deliver the chair directly to us, and we were most satisfied with the job. They do do quality work for a fair price.

We called T.J. after inheriting a loveseat and dining room set. The bones of the furniture were perfect for our home; but the fabric was very dated (as it turned out, T.J. found shredded newspapers from the 1930s inside the loveseat, from when it was last (re)upholstered).

On searching this site for an upholsterer, it was clear that T.J.'s was the company to use.

We were not disappointed!

T.J. and his colleagues were prompt and always professional. They picked up our furniture from our home. We met T.J. later at the store to choose from a wide selection of fabrics. We asked if it was possible to have the loveseat redone within a tight timeline, for a party we were hosting. To our very pleasant surprise, it was completed within two weeks, which was three weeks earlier than we had asked!

Most importantly, the quality of the work was excellent.

The final price was precisely the same as what was estimated.

We cannot say enough good things!

My only regret is that it took me three months to write this review (sorry, T.J.!).

We found TJ's on Homestars and gave them a try for 2 chairs that needed recovering. One is a child's armchair and the other a dining chair. It was great to deal with Milton. He came to see the chairs, brought samples and when I didn't find what I liked for fabric, he suggested websites where I could find options. The chairs turned out beautifully. We are really happy with them.

I debated for 10 years whether to just toss my well-loved tattered armchair and ottoman and just buy new or spend the money and just reupholster. I just couldn't say goodbye. I loved my chair and it needed a makeover.

TJ came to the rescue! He helped me through the process and made it a smooth experience. The price was reasonable and the service and job impeccable!

I went to see TJ with two dining benches on a long weekend and he promised delivery on the following Thursday. I was so surprised when he called me on Wednesday for pick-up! It was a quick transaction and the benches came back reupholstered beautifully - the quick delivery was such an added bonus! I will highly recommend TJ to all my friends and family and will certainly be bringing back more furniture that needs to be refreshed from mistreatment from my young children! Thanks TJ!

I dreamed of upholstering my furniture for five years but was always overwhelmed when I walked into other upholstery shops because there were thousands of fabric books and not a lot of guidance offered.
After reading the great reviews for T.J. Upholstery, I was determined to get my furniture covered! So, I contacted Milton and explained exactly what I was looking for and made an appointment to visit the shop.
When I arrived, Milton had several books ready for me to look at. It only took a few before I had picked what I wanted! Even though I spent about two more hours pouring over more books, I came back to my earlier choices and when I took the samples home to show my family - they liked them too!
The best part of all - it's done and it looks fantastic! I plan to have more furniture upholstered with Milton and can't wait to see it transformed.

I went over to TJ Fine Upholstering last Saturday after reading the excellent reviews on this website, I had 2 cushions (from solid oak rocking chair my father made years ago) that I wanted to get reupholstered. Milton has a huge selection of fabrics, he showed me several ones with bright colours which is what I was looking for. He told me the cushions would be ready in 7-10 days. He called me this morning to say that the cushions were ready for pickup. I went to pick them up this afternoon and was VERY pleased with the results. Milton did an excellent job. I will be back for future upholstering projects and will definitely recommend him to others.

fantastic turn around time and price on a berege chair rescued from street. Upon hearing I was terminally ill, Milton was very kind in assisting me in picking an indoor/outdoor fabric so I can have the chair outside when the weather is nice. I cannot thank him enough!

I didn't want to buy a nee dining room set so I called T.J Fine Upholstering. He came out immediately and was reasonable. He did a great job and I am now looking to do othet pieces!
