Dome Contracting & Insulation

As I need to redo my whole roof and replace my insulation, my roofer introduced me to Dome Insulation. They came on time for the quote with an estimate next day. Arsheen was very helpful in scheduling and rescheduling my appointment as I need to have my roof done first(due to weather permitting). The work crew came on time as schedule and they did a very thorough job starting from 9.00am and finishing at about 3.00pm. The job was well done. Like most of the 50 year old backsplit houses in our area of Mississauga, we have had issues with ice damming and the occasional related water leakage in the lower level. This year we decided to do something about it.

Before getting the roofers involved, we decided to have the insulation addressed. Dome was one of 3 recommended companies to come and give an estimate. Robert showed up on time and took me to the attic to show me what should be done. Only one other did this. His recommendation was to put in rafter vents, stoppers and remove the old insulation that had been effected by the leaks.

Arsheen, who was a pleasure to work with set us up with a date and time for the job. Robert and his crew showed up on time to commence work. Only a couple of issues were found. Years ago when the alluminum fascia and soffits were installed, no holes were cut for the ventillation air flow and it was found that the oven exhaust was venting into the attic. Holes were cut for the ventillation and the exhaust vent was marked on the roof for the roofers when they came.

The job was completed in a reasonable time and after cleanup you would never know they were there. The idea of using the roof vents for the hoses saved having to access through the house especially if you have pets.

There were no additional costs from the original estimate and no attempts at upselling were made.

A great job was done by this crew and am sure it will be reflected this winter. I expect they will be back next summer to work on the upper level of our house.

I was informed about Dome through another contractor who is a relative of one of my co-workers. I was informed that my attic area contained vermiculite insulation and the need to have it tested and possibly removed if it did test positive. On my first phone call to Dome, I spoke to Arsheen who very politely explained to me in detail the procedure of getting samples, where to take the samples for testing, and what would have to be done to remove and reinsulate, if we wish. I knew after I got off the phone that I was dealing with EXPERTS. We made the arrangements for Robert to come out and get the samples for us and he arrived right on time and wasted no time in gathering up four samples and taking pictures of the condition of my attic. After cleaning up what little bit of droppings happened to fall from the attic opening, he again proceeded to tell us about the procedure of removing and replacing the insulation, exactly how Arsheen had explained. I asked him about his equipment that he uses and found that all his equipment is designed and built by him for these jobs. Now, I am a tradesman, a millwright, and when I listened to Robert I knew that he knew exactly what he was doing and the goals he was setting for this business. Anyway, the testing was done and it came back negative but we decided to remove it anyway. Once again I made the arrangements with Arsheen and a date was set. My wife was at home working in her office that day and she met with Robert and his team who arrived promptly on time as arranged and the job proceeded. Not once did they disturb my wife in her office. When I got home from work they were just finishing up and I had a chance to see the equipment. I was blown away at the equipment that Robert had built. It really was a sight to see. I watched the team work and they made every move count. After they cleaned up we had a chance to talk. They all were a very polite, courteous group and explained everything that they had done. I must say that they are also contortionists to be able to get into the attic through roof vents the way they did. They arrived back the next morning, exactly on time as scheduled and installed new breather vents and blew in the new insulation as was explained to me. They came into the house and vacuumed up any debris that had fallen through the attic entrance in the ceiling , cleaned up all around the outside and off they went. That same day we received an email from Arsheen, a copy of our invoice, and a statement of what was done at our address.
Now at no time was there any discussion of any added extra hidden costs, more time needed or anything else that sometimes occurs when jobs are being done in your home. I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to do business with a group of professionals like this. Robert, Arsheen and the team members really are second to none, and if I was to rate Dome on a scale out of 10, it would definitely be a straight 10 out of 10 hands down. Thank you for all your help and expertise in taking care of our problem and I will definitely recommend you to other individuals who may need your assistance in the future. I was selling my home and had a pre-home inspection. The inspector found that the dryer hose was disconnected and there was minor mold staining. I called several companies but did not feel comfortable. Finally I was given Dome's name. I called them and within a few days they came out, diagnosed the problem and shortly thereafter they came and fixed the problem to my total satisfaction. The house sold 2 days later. The workers were excellent and after they left you couldn't even tell they had been there. Thank you for an excellent job.

Dome Contracting and Insulation performed removal of vermiculate insulation and mold abatement in the attic of my house. Afterwards they reinsulated the attic with closed-cell foam insulation. The complexity of the job was exacerbated by the fact that the attic had been previously converted into the usable space, with floor, walls, and sloped ceiling. I wanted to preserve that space, which meant that after the re-insulation everything had to be rebuilt almost from scratch to be the way it was before.
What struck me about Robert, while choosing the right contractor for the job, was his knowledge of the codes, his candidness with recommendations as to what insulation material would work better in particular situation of my attic. At the end I chose Dome because in my view they provided best value for my money.
The job, because of its scope, took longer than I wished for, but the wait has been well rewarded by the quality of the work. Robert is a perfectionist, and he and his team took their time making sure that everything was done by the book, and to my satisfaction.

Dome Contracting performed the abatement and reinsulation of two attic spaces at my home. I recieved quotations from several companies. Dome was competitive, timely and completed the work without any price changes nor difficulties.
