Price was not the most important factor when we signed up with Joe. It's an over $50K project. I don't think it's cheap. He showed us virtual design and great ideas in landscaping. He promised it'd be a three-to-four-week project. We were thrilled to get started the project.
Project initiated with over 10 workers on the site. After 3 weeks, only 3 were working here and there. They ripped off the grass and threw away (to the back of my backyard) the concrete steps. Never cleaned up the garbage. He asked for money everytime he started to work on a key item, say pouring concrete for sunroom base, etc. In the first 3 weeks, we paid over 70% of the total price while the project was about 30% done.
Then he gave us many reasons to slow down or even to not show up. He told us his mom was passing away. And then he had to arrange funeral service. Then he was sick. Then, many other reasons. Work was totally stalled after 6 weeks.
Shortly after 10 weeks, he sent a waste bin to put in front of my yard on a Sunday. He didn't send anyone until a week later to dig on my driveway. As a result, we couldn't drive our cars back to the garage. After many emails and phone calls which got no answer, Joe came by on a Saturday morning and made some ramps with wood strips. After 13 weeks, not surprisingly, we are still living with the scraps and nothing has been installed since the digging.

I contracted Joe from Stamp Concrete to build my patio. I will start by saying the did good work. Not excellent, but good. He did put a stamped compass into our patio which we did not talk about, and at first I was unsure but it does turn heads.

He was however the best quoted price, half the price of Elite Concrete. However he told me he would have the project completed before our wedding and he was a month and a half late. Every time he would say he was coming to work on it he did not. It was only when I would call him from "private number" would he answer his phone.

This could be that he was hoping to get new customers while making the ones who have signed an agreement wait. After a summer with no patio, and weeks of phoning him to bug him, he would send a couple guys over and they would work for a couple hours. He told me it would take 5 guys two days maximum. He did not accuratley match the color of the brick on the house which he said he would do, and I have not seen the patio through a winter yet but other than that they did a good job.

A couple of spots where more care and detail could have been used but concrete is difficult to work with and I understand this. Overall I think the appearance of his workers could be better (smoking and lounging around while another one works and then switch).

Be mindful you could wait for your job to be complete past its due date if you don't hassle him. Other than that for the price it was good.
