Prompt, friendly, informative and top quality work. They rebuilt our front steps and porch. They included some brickwork around the area, as well as a repair to a railing and gate in the backyard.

We were very pleased with the ideas they suggested for the style of the steps and the way they navigated some of the terrain difficulties. They provided frequent updates on the state of the work and next steps.

The workspace was always left clean.

I am so happy I found Victory Carpentry on HomeStars to complete my new shed and small fence project. Victor is a true craftsman who demolished a 35 year old shed and rebuilt a fabulous new shed to replace it using only a photo I found online.

We had Victory back to do more work for us and once again had an excellent experience. Victor & Matt arrived as scheduled and did a great job as they worked through the items that needed to be completed e.g. building various bulkheads in the laundry room, drywall taping, painting, door / trim installation, flooring / stair tread / riser installation, etc. Victory’s workmanship and professionalism is outstanding, I cannot say enough good things about this company. We like Victor very much- he's done work for us in the past and he's a likeable, kind man, courteous and eager to please.
This time Victor completed a repair on the exterior wall of our house. An area had to be re-built with new brick as the old one had deteriorated due to moisture. He parged the area to cover the brick and match the existing parge area. It looks very good- it's very evenly done and and in line with the existing parging. Plus he managed to match the texture really well.
In the process, he explained his approach and afterwards ensured that we were happy with the result.
If you need a good handyman, don't hesitate to call Victor.

Scope of Work:

Design of the space, excavation and grading of the yard, deck, pergola, bench, fence, waterproof shed, a waterproof outdoor buffet, stairs, and stunning lighting throughout and electrical outlets. While working on the project we noticed some concrete and bricks on our foundation needed attention and his team helped us with this as well.

What it's like to work with Victory Carpentry:
Victor considers every detail, connected with us very frequently from planning through to close of the project so we felt very comfortable and confident in what was being built, when it would be done and impact to cost. He spent a lot of time planning upfront, asking many questions about how we'd like to use the space; he was flexible in the design as we progressed through the project, making adjustments proactively and reconfirming the design along the way. He was also great at bringing in the right experts (engineer, electrician) at the right times to make sure it complied with all building and electrical requirements. Furthermore, Victor has checked in after the project on a number of occasions to make sure we are happy, satisfied and if there is anything that he could improve/tweak. He is really focused on making sure he meets and exceeds his clients expectations throughout the whole process.

Our thoughts:
Our outdoor space is breath taking, the attention to detail is outstanding, it's extremely well laid out and functional (per Victor's design), structurally sound and well built with excellent craftsmanship - we absolutely love it and would highly recommend Victor and his team.

Victor and his team delivered very high quality work with great attention to details. they went beyond what they supposed to do and made sure everything looks perfect. I will ask for their help for my next home project.

Our landscaping was in dire need of an overhaul, from falling down fences to uneven paths and patios that flooded during rainstorms.

Victor and his team started right from the most important basics, and regraded our entire backyard so that water would flow away from the house during storms, eliminating flooding issues. As part of this process, he built a beautiful steel retaining wall at the back and one side to accommodate the grade change.

Now for the fun stuff. Victor and his team laid a beautiful brick pathway right from the front sidewalk all the way around the house to our back parking at the laneway, with a stunning patio and room for sheds. The pathways and patio drain PERFECTLY, which is an impressive feat given the length from front to back of over 100 feet. They also installed heating underneath the side breezeway to eliminate our winter slip hazard, and installed an awning with a skylight and cedar shingles above our basement door to shield it from the elements while still providing plenty of light.

They rebuilt the fences and gates on all four sides of the backyard, and Victor was very helpful in dealing with our neighbours as we figured out the styles that we would all be happy with. They also rebuilt beautiful wide steps at the back of the house.

To top it off, they built a beautiful multi-functional cedar post and beam structure in the backyard, which we use to hang hammock chairs or a hammock from, and to hang a screen inside of for outdoor movies.

I could not be happier with how this turned out - I think the photos speak for themselves! Victor and his team were very easy to deal with through the entire process, and were always full of great ideas and helpful insights that made this project so spectacular (such as his suggestion to do extra wide back steps from the back of the house, which we sit on every morning with our coffee!)

I could not give a higher recommendation for Victory Carpentry, especially for a job as big as complicated as this one! This is my third project with Victor, and I look forward to the next one!
