Replace Hardwood Flooring on Main Floor with Vintage Red Oak Cocoa Solid Sawn
I found myself forced to replace my hardwood floor following a big screwup by my old contractor in resanding my existing floor. I contacted Floorwood as a result of the stellar reviews they received on Homestars. I liked Robert right away and he gave me great confidence. However, I felt compelled to do some more thorough research and get multiple quotes, including from other companies reviewed on this website. I got quick responses from Patricia at Floorwood on numerous follow up questions I had. In the end, no other company gave me quite the same confidence as Robert and I'm thrilled to say, I ended up selecting them. The work they did was outstanding. Their attention to detail is incredible and as others have noted, Robert and Darek go above and beyond to get the job done right. They prepped the house, moved furniture, ripped out my old floor, fixed up and leveled my subfloor, cut doors, removed/reinstalled toilets and kickplates and did various other carpentry related work to ensure the floor is seamlessly installed. Robert was the only one who actually recommended not installing plywood on top of the existing subfloor, saying it was completely unnecessary. Others either insisted on it or highly recommended it for various reasons, including getting a more leveled look and to get rid of the squeaks of my old floor. I can assure you that my floor no longer squeaks in any place AND it looks leveled. Floorwood's price was competitive, but in the end, they saved me money, as I did not require a subfloor. In addition, this allowed them to fit the new floor under the existing rads (though not an easy task). They came early and worked hard all day, but made it seem easy. I wouldn't have known how hard they worked until I stayed home one of the days. Everything was cleaned up by the end of the day. My new floor looks so beautiful and this was such a painless experience, that I am now considering doing the upstairs floor as well. They take care of everything.
