I own a home in which this company had installed windows. Andy came to inspect my windows as there was a lot of ice buildup, even all the way around the window, and one window even had snow blowing in. He told me that my weather stripping on the window was in excellent condition, for its age. I pointed out that I had removed some weather stripping as it was in poor condition as I wanted to match it and replace it. He then noticed the missing weatherstripping. He stated my window was in good condition and that it was normal to have cold air blowing in. He suggested I blow a fan at the window to keep the ice from building up. I said I didn't think it was normal to have to point a fan at my window in winter to keep the ice from building up , but he insisted my window was in good working condition. I asked if it was normal to have snow blowing in and he said he couldn't see that. I mentioned that it was currently summer and that's why he couldn't see snow blowing in, however I did have pictures that I had submitted. In the report he wrote he stated I had poor airflow in my home and high humidity which contributed to the ice buildup. I asked for clarification on the poor airflow as I have ceiling fans and kitchen and bathroom fans. I asked how I had high humidity as he hadn't tested it using a hydrometer (a tool for measuring moisture in the air) and I was told that his findings were based on experience and multiple other factors. I actually tested my home for humidity using a hydrometer and my home is on the low end of average. I did ask why Andy did not use his equipment to measure the humidity instead of just stating an opinion, but I was never given an answer. Andy also reported that I had blinds and "heavy" curtains that contributed to the poor airflow and humidity. My curtains are not heavier than any other materials and I do not have blinds. I did note that the cracked plastic around my window was not mentioned at all and this company insists that my windows have not failed.
My impression is that this company will not guarantee it's work and will flat out make things up in order to not take responsibility for failing windows. In their website it states that ice buildup and air coming in the windows is reason for replacement. When they were in my home they told me it was normal. I have had 3 independent contractors in my home who all state that my windows were installed incorrectly and need to be replaced.
