move out/ move back in

This was an insurance claim move resulting from a condo flood. The move was necessary to allow the floor to be refinished. The three movers fro the company, NO PROBLEM MOVERS, were outstanding: courteous, extremely punctual, fast moving, very careful with the contents and unit. Their names were Rocky, Kevin and Herville (not sure on this name). This was by far the most professional moving company that we have ever dealt with (we've moved 6 times)

No Problem movers has great moving staff but terrible sales people. I should have known there would be an issue when Pedro tried to immediately sell me a $9.00 matress bag for $25.00. This is all about making as much money on you as possible. I had a simple move 1 bedroom from Brampton to Cambridge. I had moved the year before from Alliston to Cambridge for $820.00..see the issue. I was promised 2 wardrobe boxes at no charge and recieved none on the morning of the move and had to stuff my good clothes into two small dirty boxes. I didn't of course. The truck was twice as big as required therefore twice as costly on gas. Do not use these movers unless you want to be take to the cleaners.

I have responded personally to Mr Hasan but it looks like it will require more of my time to set the record straight:

Firstly, the team was there much more than 11 minutes earlier than was very specifically stated (no one was listening but this was only the beginning. Showing up ahead of schedule required me abandon my schedule and the work I was doing in the storage area to tend to them. I had everything staged and was specific about the fragile things I wished to take in my vehicle and which boxes and items they were to take. Again none of the details I gave ever got thru to anyone. Why ask the customer anything if you are going to ignore them and do what you want?

2. ( I am well aware of the mattress bag sizes I was curious as to why this seemed to be a major priority (selling me the bags rather than listening to what I wished moved and what I did not. ( I inexpensively took care of the mattress bags myself as I might suggest anyone dealing with No Problem movers do themselves as $25 is a complete rip off and they no more care about the box spring being covered as it was not but it seems very important that you fixate on describing and selling mattress bags.

To your point about the wardrobe boxes...in fact 3 were ordered. What difference does this make as none showed up. There seems to be more concern now about the wardrobe boxes than on the day of the move when no one cared.. The only option offered me were two small dirty boxes. The fact that you choose to underplay this and excuse my frustration under scores the fact that you still just don't get it..

Why are you so fixated in excuses rather than understanding your customers concerns or frustrations. Boxes provided at no additional cost that is absurd. I should hope so they were of no use to me and I threw them out anyway. The move cost me dearly FREE nothing was FREE.

4. The concern that Pedro threatened you to pull our crew out and lock up the truck is not only untrue

Pedro did indeed say that he would turn the truck and unload it back at the apartment and your and his response here is an out right FABRICATION. I need say no more about this as he did indeed threaten to do just that.

Pedro's view of this conversation is skewed to say the least...as soon as I expressed my frustration professionally but firmly he spoke over me basically telling me to be quiet as if he were speaking. A child would have been spoken to with more respect I believe. I realized at that moment that my concerns meant absolutely nothing and that I better as he said be quiet and listen to his excuses or risk having to do this mess all over again. When you are moving timing is everything and No Problem to full advantage of this as they knew and know that no customer would risk having their items locked up or turned back so they better not complain.

Pedro also mentioned to you 3 times he wants to take care of you and please call him when you calm down.

This statement is a joke and reasonable complaint can be spun to sound as he is presenting it.

As you had mentioned you were having a bad day
YES my bad day was entirely due to No Problem Movers and I was being pleasant as I always am to the movers who were not to blame for the mess this was in fact I tipped them because they were trying to make a bad situation better they were very respectful.

You in return hung up the phone.

I hung up because I was driving in heavy traffic and realized that there was no point to trying to get a word in as Pedro continued to talk over me. We have the recorded calls. (I also have recordings you may need them.

I haven't even mentioned the damage to my vintage radio or the living room floor or the fact that I moved more boxes myself and the bill was still unimaginably high. I didn't want to bring this into the equation because the guys were nice and raced to get things moved trying to keep the ridiculous bill down as best they could. I try never to shoot the messenger. You send these poor guys out there with no information and no tools.

I could go on and on but I have wasted enough of my time dealing with No Problem Movers. NO PROBLEM...HUH BIG PROBLEMS...

Company Response

Hello Robin,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was sitting in with Pedro when both calls were taking place (the call when you booked your move & the call made on the day of your move). I would like to address each one of your concerns below:
1. We do apologize in regards to your schedule. You had requested our team to be at your location for 11:30 on October 29 2013. On Oct 29 2013 you had called in at 11:23am and spoke with Pedro and advised that our team had showed up 1 hour early. All of our trucks and employees phone do have GPS tracking on it. In fact our team was at your location at 11:09am as that was the time our trucks showed up to your location and our team lead called the office at 11:19am after parking the truck and bring up pads and other packing items up to your apartment. Pedro then advised that there will be no charge for the extra 11min that our team showed up early and started.

2. Mattress bags do come in different sizes and different thicknesses. Some mattresses bags are also couch covers and do cost less as they are a lot thinner. Our mattress bags are 4mm and we retail them for $12.50 each. The $25.00 is both mattress and box spring. Pedro did advise you of that during the call.

3. You also did mention you would like to have 2 free wardrobe boxes during your first call into No Problem Movers. After reviewing your file, Pedro did request not only 2 free wardrobe boxes but 3 of them. Our warehouse manager looked into this matter and realized it was a miscommunication from our warehouse team. Pedro did credit you $145.77 for that mistake which is more than fair as a matter of fact extremely generous considering wardrobe boxes are provided at no additional cost to our clients.

4. The concern that Pedro threatened you to pull our crew out and lock up the truck is not only untrue but also not fair for you stating that. When you called Pedro you were yelling at him over the crew showing up early and Pedro then advised you if you were not happy we could leave at no cost to you. Not once did Pedro advise you that he would lock up the truck. Pedro also advised you that we would compensate you for not having the wardrobe boxes. Pedro also mentioned to you 3 times he wants to take care of you and please call him when you calm down as you had mentioned you were having a bad day. You in return hung up the phone. We have the recorded calls.

In your first call with Pedro you asked him how long does a move like yours take moving from Brampton to Cambridge and Pedro advised you 6-8 hours depending on traffic. Your 2nd question to Pedro was is your team members (our movers) fast and careful. Pedro advised that all of our team members are trained and their main job was to ensure your moving was done in a safe, efficient and quick manner. Your move started at 11:30am and finished at 4:30pm. Your total move was less than quoted originally.
Once we received your e-mail on November 1st you advised the following “P.S. the crew that was sent was brilliant…two of the most hard working pleasant guys it was a pleasure to have them in my home”. I am confused then on your last email advising us that nothing we told you was correct? Our team showed up early by 11 min and you were not charged for it. You also received $145.77 in credit for not bringing the 2 free wardrobe boxes, and you received 6 rolls of packing tape at no charge, all done below the quoted hours and your total cost was $836.20 and not $981.97.
Your credit is more than fair by No Problem Movers Ltd. If you feel the need to go to BBB and have a 3rd party review your file and listen to the call I think that is a great idea or visit and lodge your complaint on other websites please refer to the above and help us understand where you have been dealt with incorrectly. We welcome and encourage that as we have nothing to hide.

Multiple office moves

We used No Problem Movers for a multi-step office move. We were moving to a much smaller office, and needed to store the majority of our furniture in the hopes of finding a larger office that we would relocate to. Abbas at NPM came to our office to give me a quote and was friendly and accommodating with any requests - which continued for our 3 moves. Joe, the lead mover for all our moves, was also great to work with and very efficient. NPM had to move some very sizeable pieces as well as disassemble our Tayco workstations. They stored our furniture at a very reasonable rate, and were able to get us the specific pieces that we needed when we moved to a slightly larger space - and they were also able to reassemble the Tayco furniture even though it was a different configuration this time. I would highly recommend them for a move. Thank you Abbas!

Moving

These guys are scam artists. They charged me double the quoted price and would not give me my furniture until I paid. The person I dealt with had the name of the company tattooed to his arm. He seemed to take pleasure in ripping me off. He said "this is a nice apartment your moving to, must be expensive," insinuating that I could pay the extra price. I phoned the owner, and he laughed at me. Then we found they charged our credit card twice for the move. It took a month to get the charges reversed. Avoid this company at all costs.

Company Response

At No Problem Movers we pride ourselves on honesty, integrity and fair practice business ethics. Our solid reputation as well as the 11 years we have operated as a business prove this. The unfair depiction of our company made by Peter Rice is not accurate and we take great offence to comments that are not true nor valid.

Peter Rice is referring to a former employee we had four years ago. This employee never had any complaints against him and was an excellent employee while with No Problem Movers. We have several testimonials that reflect the same sentiment for this specific employee. The incident that Peter Rice is speaking of never happened nor would this employee ever speak to any clients of ours in that manner. The owner has no recollection of this call ever happening.

We are not aware of any customer that has ever been charged unjustly or twice for a move and if so then the client would have received a reimbursement for the full amount for the clerical error. That employee has since moved on and excelled.

We as a company take allegations such as the one listed by this individual very seriously. Unfortunately, there are many fly by night moving companies in our industry that will try and take your money unjustly. No Problem Movers is proud to say we have a solid reputation and are well respected in the community due to our efforts and contributions to such charitable organizations like Peel Children's Aid Society, Mississauga Food Bank, Kerry's Autism, Toronto Aids Committee, Mississauga & Toronto Furniture Bank just to name a few. Our service has never been compromised by using employees that do not fit our high standards.

We strongly recommend visiting our website www.noproblemmovers.com/testimonials to see what our previous clients have to say and their satisfaction with our organization. We welcome all calls and feedback and encourage viewers to contact our office and speak with any member of our team who will gladly answer any and all questions.

ACT (AIDS Committee of Toronto) Corporate Move

My name is Patrick Kearns, and I am the Practical Assistance Coordinator at the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT). One of the various programs I have coordinated is our Moves Program.

This program was designed to help our HIV-positive clients who are facing financial barriers when making the move to new housing. For the past few years, we have relied on No Problem Movers to help our clients make this important transition to a new home.

Throughout my time working with the staff of No Problem Movers, the feedback I receive from our service users has always been positive.

Because of the excellent and productive working relationship we have, I have no hesitation recommending No Problem Movers to anyone who is looking for an effective, professional and affordable moving company.
