Thanks to Yuri, I avoided buying a major money pit. I expected the normal issues with the age of the house. However, Yuri found many so called " handyman" issues that were done to this place within the structure that it has put the safety to the occupants in jeopardy. CO gases alone, due to poor workmanship that would have cost me 20k to fix. Having a trademen background I thought I had seen the issues.

A Home Inspection by Yuri is priceless. Yuri does not cut corners and do a quick in and out to produce a generic report that tells you what you can already see for yourself. Yuri spent hours with us looking at every aspect of the house. A quick look at attics and crawl spaces? No. Yuri brings cover-alls and gets right in there. Explanations and advice are provided as you go and followed up with a very detailed report. The premium service that includes the Thermal Imaging is well worth it.
When we hired Yuri to do the home inspection we knew there were some issues with the house but we thought they were manageable. As it turns out there were some less obvious issues that were significant enough to cause us to walk away from the purchase.
We feel Yuri saved us from making a big mistake. We were so pleased with his work that we hired him again for the next house we put an offer in on and although he still found some things we couldn't see (there will always be something since no house is perfect), like some moisture behind a small section of wall and mould in the attic they weren't enough for us to bail. They did give us something to go back and talk to the seller about fixing or adjusting.
If you are a seller, knowledge is power. Get Yuri to inspect before you sell, correct the things that could negatively affect a deal and be up front about the little stuff telling the prospective buyer that those items are priced in. Bad surprises kill deals. No surprise, no problem.

Our real estate agent contacted Yuri for an inspection of a small unit in an older highrise building in Toronto.
