The inspection with Yuri was done very professionally and thoroughly. Now, ideally the inspection of such caliber would be rather appropriate for the house buyers, especially if they plan to bring the price of the property down. If you intend to sell your house you may still find such inspection of some help as it will expose all the faulty parts, which will in turn present you with the opportunity to fix everything before the buyers will bring their own home inspector.
Anyway, buyers or sellers, this inspection was somehow focused on negative parts and many positive parts were either overlooked or mentioned briefly in the report. For instance, the fact that the roof was practically new hasn’t been mentioned at all, yet the chimney crown that has suffered some “tear-n-wear” from the weather elements was accented in the report. IMHO, there should be a balance in terms of showing strong and weak parts of the property, which is why people normally turn to inspectors – to find out things that they can’t estimate properly themselves.
As for the way inspection was carried out, I have absolutely no complaints. Yuri has checked every part of the house (as much as the weather and the our stored belongings allowed him), including some parts of the house that Pillar To Post inspectors haven’t even come close to.
