Ideal Insulation & Roofing

Ideal was great to deal with from the first phone call to book an estimate right through to the completion of the work. We obtained estimates from Ideal and one other company. Ideal performed a much more comprehensive estimate/appraisal of the work needed than the other company did. Ideal entered our attic, thoroughly inspected things, took pictures and explained all the work that would need to be done. The other company's estimator popped his head up into the attic opening, looked around with a flashlight and quoted based on that limited information, and explained almost nothing about what was required. So while the other company came in with a cheaper quote, we chose to go with Ideal because they were clearly the more competent and thorough company and we knew there would be no suprises in the final cost. The guys that came to do the work were on time, quick to get the work done and cleaned up very well once they were finished. I would highly recommend Ideal to anyone.

The estimator came out to look at the status of my attic insulation in my house and over the attached garage. He explained about the insulation product that they use to top up what is already in place, how it is done and how long it would take. I received a quote within 2 days and a week later the job was completed. The two man crew laid down carpets to protect my floors so there was minimal clean-up as the hoses had a little bit of snow on them as they were pulled into the house. If I had known how inexpensive and quick and easy the process was I would have had the work done ages ago!

nice people to deal with; inspection was done quick and attended to details ; reasonable for pricing. didn't use them because of time/availability reasons. (response came in after I got arrangement with another good contractor)

The quote and booking process was very professional and efficient. The installers were punctual and friendly. Installation was smooth and I was kept well informed of the process. Clean up was the one area of weakness in the whole process. Still had insulation in the house and garage after the workers had left. Not a huge deal that I was easily able to clean up.

With the recent influence from the dreaded Polar Vortex that has left Southern Alberta in the grips of a Sub Arctic tundra I realized that I need to increase the insulation in my attic. To compound my problem the dirt bag NDP Government in Alberta has left us with a Carbon Tax that will surely effect my households bottom line. I inquired with a friend who had nothing but fantastic things to say about Ideal Insulation. I looked into getting an assessment on my existing insulation and to see if there was anything that I could do to enhance it. The gentleman that came to my house was just that, a gentleman, very courteous and polite. after my assessment he informed my that my house attic was equipped with R35 in 90% and R15 in the Rest. I was offer a quote to bring the R15 up to just 35 and one to bring the whole works up to R50. I am extremely glad that I chose to bring the total value up to R50 as that is now Code and house is noticeably more comfortable. The Service of the office staff and the guys that showed up to do the work was above my expectations with so many companies out there that you just don't know who to trust, I would recommend Ideal Insulation to Anyone looking to enhance there Insulation!!

The company were very professional. The gentleman that came out at first to give me a quote was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer questions. When the boys came to do the work they were on time and cleaned up after they were finished. Bailey who is in the office was very friendly and again willingly answered questions. I was very satisfied with the work.

My restoration project manager brought in his preferred insulation and roofing company, Ideal Insulation. It was just a week before Christmas and our attics were full of icicles and frost. Shawn from Ideal came to inspect the attics and listen to our concerns. He understood the high risk of moisture penetrating our attics to reach our main and top floors with the current warm weather. He also understood that we were very worried about ruining our completed top floor renovation during a devastating recession and our insurance wouldn't provide any coverage for this situation.
Shawn's crew had just two days to remove the wet insulation in both attics to avoid mould developing and carefully time the warm weather with the full thaw of the ice in order to capture the melted ice while up there.
The men wore full wet suits and masks to enter the attics through the roof vents and work vigorously to catch what sounded like a major downpour over our heads. They emerged victorious and without any breaches to our home. Their roofer took care of the roof vents, Shawn did the little clean up that was needed inside, and they left as quietly as they came.
The restoration company took over to dry out the wood in the attics but neglected the project for the following 5 days. Snow had accumulated in both spaces and water penetrated our plaster ceilings and electrical on both levels, causing floods on Christmas day. We slept with plastic and towels over us while the water dripped down. I contacted the project manager who finally installed dehumidifiers on the 26th and then took off again so I emailed Shawn. He was snowed in somewhere but came out the next day to inspect our new damage. He said that we did not need a week of dehumidification in the attics and that there was no need to further delay re-insulating since that would only make the house more vulnerable to other problems. He offered to tell the project manager that he was going to put an end to the delays and finish the work the next day to finally bring us some peace. It was a huge relief.
As usual, the Ideal crew rallied in short order and started work on fixing the roof vents, properly preparing the attics with baffles and sealed joints, before blowing in the correct amount of insulation. They did a great job and Shawn was an amazing leader in this situation. He is quiet but extremely hard working and effective. Thank you!

They came early and I saw them waiting outside so I let them in they were efficient they cleaned up after themselves and I was happy
