Oscar at AMI does wonderful work. His prices are quite reasonable and the quality of work done is top notch. I also like the fact that if he can't fix the device, he will tell you and won't charge you for the work. He is my go to person when my electronics are not working.

My computer's motherboard was on the fritz. Oscar was able to locate the
problem and fix it.

He communicates IT jargon well into layman's terms and has great customer service savvy. These are both important to me.

OK, it's simple. We needed our Harmon Kardon (ipod dock) fixed. A piece of the jack was broken. Oscar came to our house, gave us a fair estimate, took our HK with him back to his shop, fixed it, and delivered it back to our house within 24 hours. It was completely fixed. Like I said, it was that simple, and we couldn't be happier. I will refer his services to everyone I know! Thanks Oscar!

I first met Oscar over 10 yrs. ago when I had a tv problem. He came to the apt. and demagnetized it - problem solved. A few years later I bought a refurbished tv from him - still works great. He has helped with questions and given professional and excellent advice on a number of issues over the years. Just yesterday, I called to ask if I could hook up a new stereo system to old speakers. He called back in 1 hour and gave detailed instructions so I feel confident to do it myself. Always kind, helpful and honest. I trust his integrity as a very knowledgeable repairman.

I am an audiophile that collects vintage high end equipment. Whenever I have an electronic issue, I always go to Oscar first. When I ask for an repair estimate, he responds to me within 24 hours with the problem and estimate. If I decide not to proceed with the repair, there is no charge for his opinion. Most electronic repair shops charge at least $75 to look a piece of equipment, whether you decide to repair or not.
Recently, I had a high end amplifier serviced by Oscar. He was receptive for me to shop around for quotes, including with the original manufacturer. After speaking with Oscar and the manufacturer directly, Oscar was far more knowledgeable with regards to the issue and charged a lower price than the manufacturer. Moreover, the repair was completed in a week with parts ordered. After hearing the end result, I know made the right decision.

Almost a year and a half ago I brought my 37" Olevia LCD flat screen TV in for Oscar to repair. The TV had started to shut off unexpectedly and had become unwatchable. Oscar quoted me $350.00 to repair the power supply. I had paid just under $700 for this unit about 18 months earlier but there was no warranty left and the company had gone bankrupt so I decided to let him try and repair it. Needless to say after repairing the power supply the TV still behaved the same way. I brought it in again and this time he replaced one or more capacitors. It still had the same problem. I brought it back a 3rd time and left it for him for several weeks. He said he would leave it on and see what happens. Not once did the unit shut off so I picked it up. I set it up at home and within 30 minutes it shut down on it's own again! As a last resort, I gave this TV to a relative and he is having the same issues with it.Needless to say this was a frustrating experience and driving it downtown from Oakville was just too inconvenient.
