We had a skylight installed in our home in the summer of 2019. From quote to finished product, we were very satisfied with the services provided by Denis, Ed and their team. It was a pleasure to work with gentlemen who were candid in their assessment and recommendations and entirely professional. The project was done with zero shortcuts. They managed our expectations pretty well and timely, clear communication helped build trust. Finally, we were most impressed with their attention to detail and polished finish work, which resulted in a completely smooth, clean finish to the ceiling around the skylight. We couldn't be happier with the quality workmanship. Finally, the only reason we aren't providing a perfect 10 star rating (we'd provide a 9.9 if we could!), is that the lighting installed as a part of the skylight is not compatible with the existing dimmer switch and is very harsh bright white LED lighting. Had we known these two things, we might have made different decisions around adding the lighting to the project, which increased the price and complexity of the project. But despite that, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Denis and his team. Thanks for for a great job that we enjoy every day.

Totally professional in all respects. Sleek new window fitted seamlessly in an awkward location. Workmen were friendly, repaired some sloppy work left by others and cleaned up every speck both inside and out. And they sent us photos of their work, which otherwise is not visible from ground level. A nice touch. Michael B.

Dennis (owner) came to our home and presented himself in very polite and accommodating manner. Dennis presented the options available with his recommendations.
His crew was remarkably efficient as well as being very respectful to us and our home.

We recently had 3 sun tunnels installed in our roof (2 hallway, 1 washroom). We originally wanted a skylight but Denis informed us it simply didn't make sense with the height of the roof from the attic. We went with Denis' suggestion for the sun tunnels and are very pleased with the end result! The installation went very well - everyone on the team was professional, courteous, and went out of their way to explain everything to us in detail. We had Skylights Unlimited install two Velux Openings in our home ia couple of weeks ago. The whole experience was excellent and we are extremely happy with it , from the initial honest assessment by Denis to the the work by Ed and Brian who were very professional, polite and pleasant. Roof windows are uncommon in North America and the team did a great installation job. I was informed about their progress every step of the way and the final clean up was immaculate. I highly recommend Denis and his team!

The Company is FANTASTIC and very professional. We got quotes from 3 companies. The other two gave us a quote over the phone. Dennis, the owner of the company, came in person and inspected the whole roof and recommended only 4 out of 6 skylights that would need replacing. Was quoted 3-4 weeks for delivery of skylights and 2 days for installation. The installers, Ed and Brian, showed up on time and make an excellent team. Both men are very knowledgeable, they answered all of my questions. They were very efficient and cleaned up inside and outside after each day and completed the work in 2 days. Price was reasonable and the quality excellent. VERY SATISFIED !!!!

We had Skylights Unlimited install a Velux Solar Powered Opening in our new home in 2014. In general the actual Velux skylight has been excellent - I like the solar-powered opening ability, and the auto-close when any rain is detected. We have had Velux come in to repair the unit - steam from a shower below rusted the battery connections in the skylight itself, but this is likely more of an issue with the bathroom fan installation rather than the skylight itself.

The real issue is with the join between the roof and the skylight. We're re-insulating the attic now (2020) and have noticed extensive water damage at this join - i.e. years of slow leakage at this join. Clearly this was not installed/sealed properly in an area where most customers would not see the issue for years.

Velux is a good product, but its also critical to get a good installer - Skylights Unlimited was not a good installer 6 years ago, hopefully they're better now...

Dec 10 Update:

I've been talking with Skylights Unlimited about this issue and they shared the attached photo that was taken after the installation in 2014. Given that there is light getting into the attic along the join between the skylight curb and the roof, they strongly believe that the problem was with the original curb installation, and not their curb extension that they installed. Once I have a roofer get up there to fix the issue and take more photos, I'll provide a further update on this.

Regardless, Skylights Unlimited has been very professional about communicating with us on this issue.
