Lesson Learned

We've learned our lesson, we had a horrible exerience the first time we purchased from Park's. However, we just moved into our new home and thought we did save some money the first time around, it can be that bad twice. We were wrong. The service is atrocious. we had much better sales lady this time around but once they have your money, you no longer qualify for being treated well. My husband took a call from Eric, from delivery, who told us the time they would be there. There are no options. We were given one day to make arrangements. Eric was argumentative on the phone and completely rude to my husband. We both work out of town and had no one who could come to the house to wait, even if we did if something was wrong and they accepted the couches, we wouldn't have been able to return them (the last time we ordered, the couches were wrong, so we weren't willing to take that chance again). Eventually, we were able to make arrangments for the following week when one of us would be home but it took a couple phone calls, wasted breaks and lunches on our part, rude service but they came when my husband would be home. At the same time, we were getting bedroom furniture from another company who was absolutely fabulous. I told the receptionsist at Parks about that but there was no desire on their part to make this a better experience. She compared Park's service to that of Bell/ Shaw, that they come out when it's convenient for them, not the customers (with our new house, Rogers came on a Sunday to set everything up). Park's obviously does not strive to be better in service in than anyone else, they're fine being middle to back of the pack, just because they offer lower prices.

We are willing to do time delivery, however, we can not do it for the same price. We do our delivery runs in the most efficient way possible. Everyone wants the cheapest price, however if you want a time delivery and willing to pay the extra costs, we would be more than pleased to provide it.

Leather Recliner

Wow, what a great place to shop. Excellent customer service and everything you could possibly want at prices you can't beat. They delivered in no time and I have to say I am more than pleased with what I got.

mattress purchase

Parks Furniture has the worse customer service and the owner Patrick Gabriel is the rudest person I have ever encountered in my life.(he should not be a business man). I purchased a mattress from them to receive it damages and incorrectly made. So on the same day a few hours later we went back to the store to exchange the mattress so instead of getting the same one we chose a different one and the indicated that I had to pay a restocking fee of $90 dollars I wasn't to happy about it but agreed they said it would show up has a credit on account for me to use on a later date when I decide to purchase something else in the store. They said the new mattress would be one week a week an half went by and no mattress so I called to see where it was how convenient it had arrived that day (really). I asked her when it was scheduled to be delivered and she said the following Thursday and I stated that it was unacceptable that I wanted it delivered sooner she told me she was going to look into it and get right back to me which she never did. so Wednesday came around the day before the delivery and I called to see what was going on cause is didn't get a call the day before to confirm delivery when I called to said it was now scheduled for the following Monday so I started freaking that, that wasn't going to happen I wanted it delivered Thursday like I was promised and I wanted my $90 back for aggravation waiting so long without a mattress she said she couldn't that the owner Patrick Gabriel had to authorize the refund so I said have him call me to discuss. He called me and I explained my situation and my frustration on the matter he pretty much told me to bad for you your not getting your $90 back its going to stay in your account and if you never use it to bad for you. I said are you really going to lose a customer for $90 dollars and he said I have millions of customers I don't need you. I said well I am going to return the mattress completed and get my money back and he said no your not its in our policy. I was so disgusted by Patrick Gabriel demeanor I hope I never have to talk to him ever again. People like him they think cause they have a lot of money they can talk to people how ever they want will let me tell you something what goes around comes around.

Our policy would allow for an exchange of one mattress for a different one if the first one came in damaged without any restocking charge However, if you decided you did not like the mattress we normally do not take it back. However, it appears I agreed to take it back the mattress and charge a small restocking fee. We are unable to resell a used mattress. Other companies make such huge margins on mattresses the can afford to take one back once in a while if the customer does not like it.
