I had purchased all new furniture for my home in 2008 with warranty. This included a sofa set, living room tables, and armchair. While the purchase went great initially, with the managers being very supportive of any problems we might encounter, come 2010, our furniture is badly worn out, torn in some places. This IS covered under the "lifetime" warranty, and we did get representatives to come take pictures at our home. They gave us the option of a replacement or taking a flat amount of cash (ie. $300.00 dollars for our armchair) but we wanted the replacement. After they agreed to give us a replacement, they never contacted us again. After no response, we called them ourselves and were told that we would have to go through the entire process again, because it was not on record. They told us this was because it was over the phone, and additionally, told us they could not complete our request until we came in person. So, until we came in person, there was no record at all of us wanting to use our warranty. While the products are not long-lasting, we were generally satisfied with the purchase with the inclusion of the warranty. Ikea is still a place I shop, but I have to say I was not very happy at all with the customer service.
