Toronto Fence & Mr. Mole

Alex and his father were amazing to deal with. Their work was super and we were extremely happy with the results. They got us a nicer grade of cedar boards to work with. They also did extra work for our neighbours and everyone loved the results. Will definitely use them again.

Alex Salvino (and his father) did a fantastic job on the pressure treated fence he built for us. He took into consideration requests from our neighbours on both sides (who were going in on the cost), and made a plan to suit everyones' interests. They were fast, neat, and helpful and we would highly recommend them.

We had Alex and Mario do our fence and part of our neighbour's fence at the beginning of the summer. The job appeared okay, but upon closer inspection we noticed a few things. First, some of the fence posts installed were not tall enough to take into account the slope of the property. As professionals they should have made allowances for this. They fixed the problem by capping the post with extra wood to make to post appear taller - without consulting us.

Second, there were several minor things to finish off the job. Alex assured us that he would come back, it will be taken care of, and that he was not 'one of those type of contractors' who never return. After trying to reach Alex via many emails and voice mail messages, in mid-August we finally spoke with him on the phone and again he said he would be over in the next few days. We finally gave up on him and finished the jobs ourselves.

What a shame to spend a lot to money and experience such a lack of integrity. We would not recommend this company. We totally agree with Brock and Sherry of North York's review as well, - it is not just doing the job that counts, you must be willing to follow up with your customers and make sure the job meets their requirements

Alex and Mario do good work but I am disappointed in Alex's lack of follow up. There was a small part of the job that was incomplete and I emailed Alex about it with a photo. No response. Then I called him and he assured he would get to it the next week. Well, no response again and no response to emails even when I noted that I did not want to leave any negative review. I had even asked him if I should just take of it myself and he said "No, I will take care of it." It was strange that you get a response asking for a quote via email right away but no response about completed and paid for jobs.

Unfortunately, even though this was a small detail, it showed the lack of follow up. This was also noted from a friend whom I recommended Alex to and used for a fence around his home. I didn't believe it until I found out myself. Toronto Fence does good work but don't expect any follow up of issues. This worries me moving forward if I ever had any issues with the fence/gates.

I also found large pieces of wood in my garden and metal pieces of the old fence/gate in my garden and surrounding areas. These should have been removed and taken away.

They are good guys but when you give them 2 jobs and a good amount of $ and also recommend someone else to a company who uses them, you expect more. Unfortunately, I will be fixing the missed detail myself now and using another fence company for my future needs. Small details matter when you spend lots of $ and are told "
it will be taken care of".

FOLLOW UP: Alex came to fix the small detail and apologized as he said he was very busy with other jobs. He was sincere about it and I appreciate him following up.

We contacted Alex because of his reviews through Homestars. We had seen 2 other people previous to him about the job. Alex was very polite and he came out to see the property shortly after contacting him. His quote was better than the others, and he was so very nice to deal with. He had lots of sample pictures for us to choose from at that first meeting. He got the quote to us very quickly and was willing to book us in the fall to do the work, even though we first saw him at the end of May. He could have done the job sooner, our neighbour just didn't want his garden disturbed in the summer. So Alex was very accommodating. When the time came, Alex and his father were such lovely people to work with. They were quick, efficient, neat and friendly. They gave me options and showed me how they would all look before I committed. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting this kind of work done. They are absolutely fabulous! Thanks guys.

Alex and his crew did an OUTSTANDING job in our house. Alex was very professional from the beginning by giving us a fast estimate that was affordable and fair (We compared prices with 5 more fence companies) and by giving us pieces of advice about the fence that was more suitable for our house. He did a great job at providing us with ideas that matched what we could afford, too. He worked really hard to install our fence as fast as we wanted it to be installed and the quality of his work and his materials was/is amazing. He and his crew are very friendly which made the installing-the-fence process a good experience. Again, the were professional, hard-working and friendly people you can trust when it comes to making improvements to your house. I absolutely recommend Toronto Fence.

Alex did a great job on our fence. I would recommend their services to anyone. Great attitude and communication throughout the process, and we are please with the finished product.
