We installed this flooring in our living room and dining room. We love the look of it and how easy it was to install. My husband dropped an 8 foot shelf AND an aluminum ladder on the floor. The shelf snapped in half upon impact. It did not make a single mark on the floor! Not even a dent or a scratch. However... scratches were so easily made by the simplest things! Like a guitar case, a chair, and I don't even know what! In just one week of installation, we had numerous deep scratches! I honestly do not even know how it happened. We put thick felt pads under EVERYTHING. The scratches were white which really stood out on the dark wood colour.
To fix the scratches I dipped a Q-tip in coconut oil and rubbed it in. Some deeper scratches needed a second application. This made the whiteness of the scratch disappear. But deeper scratches, I can still see if I get up close and I can feel it when I run my fingers across it.
Before we bought this flooring, we took home sample of different types of flooring and tested the durability. I took assorted sharp objects to each sample. and roughed them up. The Torly's vinyl faired much better than real hardwood and engineered wood. Laminate faired the best but I did not like the shine or the feel of it. My husband said my testing was not realistic because no one is going to take sharp objects like that and make gouges in the floor. True. So we bought it and installed it. I am SO disappointed in this product. We are already planning to take it out and put it in our bedroom where no one will see it. I do not recommend this product.
