Student Works Painting

Kyle & Luba were excellent workers. They worked very hard - 12 hour days with no complaints! My son Jacob enjoyed watching them work & ask them questions about the job they were doing. They helped make my house feel like a home for my two boys & I! I would recommend them to anyone!

We hired this company to paint the exterior of our large two story home.

The quote was delivered and cheque was cashed very quickly. It then took 2 or 3 follow up emails and calls to get a projected start date for the job.

When they did show up the workers were polite and nice enough. I work full time so I was not at home when the job was being done. My neighbor told me after the fact that the painters never really picked up a brush until almost 11 each day of the 6 days it took to paint the house.

They cleaned their brushes into my gardens, and some of the scrapings went into my gardens as well. My black hose is pretty much the colour of the house now too.

After the job was "complete" I noticed that some of the walls didn't seem to have two coats (which I paid for) and this is at eye level leaving me wanting to climb a ladder to inspect hiring areas for their workmanship as well. The paint was also peeling in some places and this was only 2 weeks after the job was wrapped up.The project "lead" never comes back to walk around the site and you are asked to leave the balance and all paper work with the workers.

I phoned and the project lead to let him know about the gaps in the job and the peeling paint - he said the crew would be out Monday. They did not show. It is now Tuesday and not even a phone call.

You get what you pay for. Shop around to ensure you get the quality and customer service you're expecting.

Dear Jeff: Just a note to say that I am very pleased with my deck. Your lad did a fine job. He worked steady all day Thursday and one thing I liked was he didn't have to go off to MacDonalds every hour or so. I would certainly recommend your boys to my friends..He also came back on Sat. and helped me put my chairs back and everything looks lovely. Thank you so much!

The quality of the painting was excellent, and the crew had a high level of professionalism. The quote was done in a detailed manner, and Doug helped us decide on our colours by providing useful tools & advice! We would definitely hire Student Works again!

I was very satisfied with the workmanship on our deck. Kristen our painter worked very hard to get right in between the cracks and make the coverage work. Our job was done well & in a timely manner!

Service was ok until the end of the job. First the clean up after the job was done is horrible, they use your vacuum to clean up and that's it. You would think that with all the dust from sanding they would at least pass a wet rag, but nope. We also noticed a dent on our hardwood so we called our contact and he said he would come by to take a look the next day. Job looked ok when they were done in the evening, but in the morning in daylight, we saw lots of mistakes. A few spots were missing a second coat, paint on some of our hardwood trim and worse of all there was the dent in our hardwood from the ladder they used. Our contact came by and touched up the required area and cleaned off the paint on the hardwood as best he could (there is still some there). We asked him what about the dent on the floor and he said he doesn't know how to fix that, so we asked for a discount and the response was that once the final signature on the bill that the company is done with it, but he would like to help in anyway he could. This is were I don't understand, he knows it was their fault but he won't talk to student works painting to see if he can get a discount for us. So now the cost of repair is on us. I do not recommend Student Works Painting on this fact alone.
