My wife and I could not be more happy with the service we received from Somerset Construction and our relationship with them. For starters, we're thrilled with our (renewed) house. It's a beautiful as we had hoped and from the beginning we felt that Somerset shared that vision.

This happy result was the product of a very productive and collegial relationship with Somerset. With such a big job, we spent a lot of time together! We felt Somerset understood what we wanted, listened to our needs and tried to accommodate us as best as they could. Of course, our project had some inevitable surprises. Somerset helped us make good decisions under pressure and they worked hard to keep a lid on costs. In the end, our house was finished nearly on time and on budget. Everyone told us this wouldn't happen. Wrong!

Our one regret after moving back is saying a partial goodbye to Graeme and Sandeep. They were a welcome part of our lives and we owe them a debt of gratitude.

We retained Graeme @ Somerset Construction to manage the construction of our dream home in Port Credit. Our project was a full teardown of an old side-split house from the 1950's to build a modern 4000+ sq. ft. home. We were on a strict timeline, and though a few basement walls and some paint had yet to be done, we moved and celebrated Christmas in our new home within 10 months of the demolition of the old house.

Building a house from a hole in the ground is never easy, but Graeme ensured our dealings with the various trades were smooth and, where necessary, fixed promptly. He and his trades made great suggestions along the way without pushing an "upsell" - many little changes we never thought of made a big difference. Every issue and step in the construction plan was addressed in a straight up, direct, and professional manner. Importantly, cost control was always at the forefront of his decisions and suggestions, and I have no doubt our project would have cost much more without his efforts. We have a dream home because of Graeme.

We selected Somerset to gut and renovate our Toronto house. We are very happy with the result and with their ability to keep things moving continuously and getting us back in our home within days of the anticipated end date. The quality of the work was top notch – and was apparent even before the drywall and finishings went up. Best of all, everyone was very easy to work with: both Graeme and Sandeep on the Somerset side, but also most of the sub-contractors I had occasion to interact with. For the majority of those sub-contacted jobs we went with Graeme’s suggestions of who he’s worked with in the past, and where we did, the results were fantastic.

Due to a permit situation, we had to cut this job in half and renovate the interior of our house first, and wait for a permit to do the exterior and an addition. Which means we could conceivably change contractors at this point if we weren’t entirely happy. But we won’t – we’ll gladly work with Graeme and Sandeep on the second phase of this project.

After purchasing our condo we discussed total renovation with a few construction companies. Somerset impressed us the most & did not disappoint. The results are of the highest quality thanks to the recommendations, guidance & trades people supplied by Somerset. Their staff stayed close to the project, were in regular attendance, saw timeously to any queries & ensured completion on time. We are very comfortable in our new home, happy with the results of the reno & would, without reservation, recommend Somerset for any similar project.

We were referred to Graeme from a close friend who had utilized him to get a major reno complete. Graeme was always on time, knowledgeable and friendly. Never felt taken advantage of or ripped off while working with him. His honesty is unmatched.

We had a 5month hard stop on a major renovation including adding a brand new floor. We moved in on time. I think that's unheard of. Obviously comprimises need to made as issues come up. But I can honestly say that as long as you make your decisions on time Somerset can deliver on time.

I hired Somerset to rebuild my back deck and free standing garage. They were professional, on time, and easy to deal with. The finished product is fantastic, and I am really happy with the quality of the work, and the project was completed within an appropriate schedule. Graeme and his team were accessible, and wanted to make sure that we were happy, both during the work, and once the work was complete.

We had a 1950's style bathroom totally renovated through Somerset Construction & were extremely happy with all the trades they coordinated for this project. The job was not completed until we were completely satisfied. Thank you Somerset for another fantastic job!

We had a decrepit 100 plus year old home with termites and asbestos. Graeme helped us navigate at city hall with the permit application and problems with our survey. We were on a very tight budget and he was very accommodating to our needs. Not everything is done perfectly by the sub trades but we always knew that it would be fixed to our satisfaction.

When my wife and I decided to gut our 1950s bungalow and build a second story we did lots of research and interviewed multiple companies before finally landing with Somerset Construction. Graeme was excellent and made us feel comfortable every step of the way right from our initial meeting where he explained all of the details of the process and put our minds at ease. Never once did we feel that he was trying to “sell” us and he seemed to always have our best interests in mind. He was open and honest throughout the whole process and helped us control budget which was important to us.

Graeme has amassed a collection of the best trades people to deliver on any job big or small. I would often visit the site and was always welcomed with updates from the crew who did top quality work, often going over and above to impress. At the end of every day, the site was cleaned up and put away ready for work to commence the following morning.

One of the things we appreciated most about working with Graeme was his flexibility. We didn’t have to have all of the finishing details planned out before hand and could evolve them as the house came together. There wasn’t a single thing that we brought to Graeme that he wouldn’t at least attempt to accommodate.

Lastly, and in my opinion, most importantly, Somerset’s has a great ability to recover from unforeseen problems. It doesn’t matter how much you plan, you will likely run into some type of problem along the way. What we appreciated most about working with Graeme was his ability to help the project recover when hiccups did occur. He personally takes the time to explain the situation, alleviate worries, and propose solutions and doesn’t leave you high and dry. If hiccups do occur, any additional work that needs to be done will be priced out fairly.

There are other houses in our neighbourhood being renovated but the quality of ours is noticeably better. We’re constantly getting compliments from passers-by and we are very happy we decided to work with Graeme and Somerset Construction!
