Bruce came and did an assessment and provided a fair quote to repair the damage caused by a roof leak to the bedroom closets and hallway ceiling. He had the most practical approach making the most sense and took the time to explain the process and was patient with the many questions I had. Gianni was the drywall/painter assigned to do the work. He was exceptional in his workmanship and also patient with my questions/concerns. I was very impressed with the final result and appreciated the clean up during and after the work. I am very pleased with Bruce and his team. I would not hesitate to contact them again.

We are longtime clients of Servisol Home Improvements who have just completed a renovation of a bathroom in our home. As usual the service and workmanship were outstanding and very attentive to our special requests and requirements. We would not hesitate to recommend Servisol to our friends and associates.

After receiving 3 other quotes for our bathroom gut reno, we decided to go with Servisol since Bruce's estimate was competitive, and was the most thorough, finely detailing everything that was involved, and clearly outlining the possible scenarios where extra cost may be involved (i.e. if knob & tube wiring was found, and if existing plumbing was not properly vented). This extra attention to detail up-front gave us peace of mind in selecting Servisol for the job.

The workmanship and attention to detail during the renovation exceeded my expectations. I was pleased to see that they never cut any corners, ensuring everything was built to the highest standards.

This past summer, I hired Servisol to renovate our second floor bathroom and to do a few other repairs, and both my husband and I are very glad I did.
Bruce Maisels was very careful at every step of the planning stage – often calling his electrician or his plumber with detailed questions - and he always made sure to explain exactly what making certain changes would involve, suggesting better alternatives whenever possible.
The bathroom renovation raised an unexpected problem that Bruce and his crew tackled with great care and competence. It turned out that, due to previous badly done work in the bathroom, the structural integrity of the joists supporting the floor had been compromised, resulting in a serious safety issue. Very responsibly, Bruce suggested that we consulted an engineer, who eventually recommended that the ceiling in the corresponding powder room on the first floor be lowered in order to build a ‘new floor’ underneath the existing one. Of course, at that point we had to face renovating not one bathroom, but two, and higher expenses than originally expected. In the end, however, the extra cost was quite reasonable.
All throughout, Servisol’s workmen showed great skill and attention to detail. I was impressed with the way Richard single-handedly completed the structural work. He also did a great job with the tiling and the carpentry required to take apart and put together again original window frames and doors. Marcel did an excellent job of plumbing wherever required, and Mohammad is a very skilled electrician (among other things, he rewired four connected pot lights in the master bedroom without cutting a single hole into the ceiling!)
In addition to providing us with high quality work at a reasonable cost, Bruce Maisels is a model of professionalism, integrity and fairness. After the old toilet was put back in place, it kept making a dripping sound suggesting that perhaps there was a crack. Although Marcel was very careful in the reinstallation, and no crack was visible upon close inspection, Bruce offered to share the cost of dealing with this new problem: we bought a new toilet and he bore the cost of installing it.
On more thing. After this round of renovations, I decided to install prefinished hardwood floors in the sunroom and the hallway – taking advantage of the fact that those areas were already empty of furniture. All of Bruce’s crews, however, were booked solid for several weeks, and so I hired a carpenter who had done a similar job at a neighbor’s house. That was a mistake. The job was so badly done that some of it has to be redone. Fortunately, I can count on Servisol to help with that and to continue with the rest of the renovations in our house – I need not and will not look elsewhere.

Bruce is a very good person to deal with. He shows up when he says he will and follows through with an estimate. He has experienced workers who do good work. Not knowing alot about home repairs, I felt like I was in good hands.

Our contractor (Servisol Home Improvements)and all of his tradespeople were skilled, pro-active and customer advocates throughout this job. We were told to our face by all the trades that they intended to do the job with the same level of care and attention to detail as if they were working on their own house. This was a commitment that was delivered. I have to say that we all laughed often during this job. Keep in mind that "laughter is a sign of process health". Our relationship with them is a continuing source of pleasure.

Suggestions were made that we very much appreciated. One was that we consider a particular tile for the backsplash (see pics) that we did choose after consulting with our designer. Ciot Toronto is a great place to see unusual and interesting tile for a backsplash.
Our tile floor (large tile, patterned installation) supplied by Centura and installed by Sean (see pic) is very impressive. There are no "toe-grabbers" in this tile floor and no regrets after the fact. Thank you Sean!

The electrical service to the kitchen required a significant upgrade for new appliances. Due to the effort of their electrician (Mo) we were able to run the new circuits internal to the house and avoid going to an outside wall. Thank you Mo (see pic of Sean & Mo)for that proposal

As one other reviewer commented on several occasions we left the house to them with complete confidence. Never any problem. We appreciated that.

Servisol surpassed my expectations. Bruce, the owner listened and respected our concerns as customers. Most companies and I'm talking from experience, downplay your needs/concerns (especially if you are a woman). I had received many estimates, but I had a good feeling about Servisol right from the beginning. Mark, worked in my home in a very respectful manner. He was very professional and wow... talk about being neat. Impressive !! Once again, they "listened" and cared enough to take the time to explain and clarify things. Last but not least, their prices are fair and their workmanship was excellent. Nothing was overlooked and they placed importance to every detail of the job. My floors look amazing and one room in particular, very straight! It’s a nice feeling when you have a positive experience with renovations & contractors.
