It has been a little over than a month now that I have been enjoying the beauty of hardwood flooring and I would like to thank you for that.
At frist, I was doing my homework and planning to do it myself. I had learned a great deal since. From purchasing my hardwood from Darmaga Hardwood Flooring at Richmond Hill and from calling and meeting with hardwood installers; all were very pleasant. Special thanks to Sharon and Dennis of Darmaga.
One installer that stood out was Remco Flooring. I was a bit hesitant at first to go with Remco as it did not have very many reviews on Homestars website. However, that went away as soon as I had 2 or 3 phone conversation with Remco, Mr. Remi Dubinskas.
In each conversation, he patiently answered all my questions. He could not schedule the install right away as he was busy doing others but he gave me a date. That was a very good sign indeed considering that he only had few reviews. He checked back with me several days before the install; what a follow up! Good one!
I had been very impressed with the patient, workmanship and professionalism that Remi had brought. He laid out his schedule, work sequence, expectation and of course the payment. He even suggested me what to buy and not to buy to save cost. I was also impressed with his ability to listen what client wants which I was going to tell you a story on the second day of install.
Nov 18, 2009 was the first day Remi came. He did my Open To Above Living room. It took him awhile to figure the lay out especially under the stairs … maybe I was asking him too many questions at the time. Nevertheless, he did the transition from tile to stairs. It was good and smooth. There was one spot or a joint that I believe he could have improved. I told him the next day that I would like to see separation of joints between the adjacent planks greater than 6 inches. Boy … did he not only listen but also he did showed it on his workmanship toward my Living room. I was impressed.
The third day it got even better, he nailed the 2nd floor landing with perfection. I know that it was a tricky place. My subfloor is not even and the stairs is curved. He stopped and took his grinder and level my subfloor, quite a bit of job there. His workmanship really showed. He really took it to next level which you will see it on my pictures. These pictures were shot right after the job… mind they are a bit “dirty”. To me the rest of the house is history, he did my living room, 2nd floor landings, master bedroom with perfection.
I am very happy with his workmanship, patient, manners and ability to listen to customer. For the man who listen and did what the customer wants … in my book the score is 10. I even joke with my friends that the only good thing and done right in my house is the wood install. I will invite him again to do my bedrooms and kitchen in Jan 2010.
Thank you, Remi.
